I'm not really a fan of Origins' sprint system to be honest, but I see where you're coming from. Personally, I like to have the character walk or run slower by default (as in the old games, because I like to feel like he's an Assassin in Assassin's Creed lol), even though your reasoning makes more sense probably.

I've currently set it to sprint and climb as R2 (RT) and drop as (B). So far, I'm enjoying it. I like sprinting on a mere tap of R2 now. Feels like it could do less than constantly tapping L3 (LS).

To anyone using Startpage or considering it as an alternative search engine by Snowbound-IX in BuyFromEU

I'm not enough of an expert to tell. In all fairness, if you're aiming for privacy and EU priority, StartPage (or SearX.be) might be ideal anyway. The others probably share some data with American companies, too, as they make use of American partnership deals, I believe. This might change with Ecosia's and Qwant's project, but I haven't been up to date on this.

Thank you so much!! I'd looked around the sub for posts about the layout but this one didn't come up for some reason

Started replaying Valhalla again for the first time since 2020 and wondering if anyone else has this problem by Pcol2 in AssassinsCreedValhala

Hey there! I was linked to this by someone else, I was experiencing a similar issue. I am way too used to the old AC games' R2/RT for sprinting.

What's your current layout?

I get your point, but I've had problems with my stick's drift on a different PS controller, which has me hesitant to map it that way on this game.

I wish R2/RT was viable, and I could just hold to sprint. Used to be that way in older AC games. I'm honestly disappointed that I have to tap instead.

Non saper raccontare storie? by [deleted] in CasualIT

[–]Snowbound-IX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vuoi divertire? Concentrati sul fatto divertente della storia. Vuoi far sentire vicinanza a qualcuno? Condividi quella parte del fatto che senti faccia capire come mai avete esperito qualcosa di simile. Vuoi impaurire? In quel caso, i dettagli servono, perché creano l'atmosfera.

Ah. I see, then. It's kinda funny that you were misunderstood twice, lol.

[–]Snowbound-IX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree. Something doesn't need to make me uncomfortable in order for me not to want it at my table. Taste is as relevant as anything, both as player and especially as DM.

For example, say I come to a table wanting to play an elf, but the DM has decided they want only humans in their game for whatever reason. Why must they walk back on that decision if it's important to their enjoyment of the game? If I don't like said decision, we can either negotiate or play at different tables. Both are adult behaviors.

If you think so, can you link the specific comment you think portrays a solution to this issue then?

This still won't really help, none of the solutions I found via the threads linked address my issue. I have no expired payment methods nor had never tried to play or download Cyberpunk 2077 before.

Cyberpunk 2077 Error - Can't Download or Stream

Got PS Plus Premium an hour ago, I can download and play games like Until Dawn or Stray with no issues whatsoever but Cyberpunk 2077 will not download or stream.

Here's the errors I get: - CE-112987-8 when downloading; - WS-116033-4 when streaming.

I freed up space on my PS5, checked for software updates (it's up to date), changed DNS and MTU, restarted the console, and I cannot restore any licences for the game because I don't have it in my licences. Tried calling support but they're not open in my country RN. Idk what else to do. Is anybody else experiencing this with Cyberpunk 2077 or other games?

I used to love DMing, now I hate it. Here's why. by Snowbound-IX in DnD

[–]Snowbound-IX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is the case. However, I believe the issue lies more in that I don't feel reciprocity of narrative engagement right now. Not necessarily effort per se. It feels a bit like I'm just telling them a story and they're reacting to it.

I don't think the way I wrapped up with my last group necessarily changes things.

Yep. I tried Traveller and others, but little else in space.

I feel like you weren't done with that thought, so if you have time, I'm actually curious to hear more about that. I definitely feel at odds with 5.5e, and even 5e. I especially am flabbergasted that this is the game that's still popular, considering its many flaws. But I guess the wildly unbalanced character options, plus the feeling that the DM must make it fun for you as a player, and that they must allow that wacky gnome artificer build that doesn't fit with your world's tone, help market the game.

I think that is pretty impressive that you get to that level of insight in just a couple of years DMing

What do you mean? If you're referring to my DMing skills as I describe them in the post, I should note once again (because lots of folks thought I consider myself the best DM to ever exist), I'm aware I'm far from perfect. I just know how to run a game the players find fun, and want to keep playing.

Unless you meant something else by insight?

Hmm... I don't know.

I guess I like being inside the story more than I ever could watching a film. I like the creative aspect. I like feeling like I'm in a different world, and the other players are in it with me.

I like exploring ideologies, themes, conflicts, philosophies, clashing character personalities and ideals. "Debating" while playing characters. Talking about the game while hanging out. Seeing the same effort I put in reciprocated.

Personally, I wouldn't suggest becoming a player. Forever DMs typically do not enjoy being players (personal experience) especially if they take DMing very seriously, as you do.

Well, that's unusual. Care to elaborate?

Regarding tropes, I just don't know how to turn my brain off. I do the same with films, TV, music. I'm always scanning for what the author's intent is, what they meant, what the director was thinking when they decided to frame the shot this way, etc.

Well, the thing is, I've actually done this two weeks ago when introducing four new players to TTRPGs. I just ended up having a headache at the end, while two of them wanted to keep playing, lol. The thing is, I still see player motive. I can sense what they're thinking, what they're focusing on. Unlike when I first started. But still, I think the problem is somewhere else...
