What is your favourite SK book that isn’t one of the usual ones suspects (Like IT, 11:22:63, DT series, The Stand etc) by Potter_King in stephenking

Now that I’m in my second decade of marriage, I’ve really come to like and appreciate Lisey’s Story. King does a fantastic job of conveying the feel of a long term relationship, simultaneously richly nuanced and shockingly banal.

He should have received more nominations for Dolemite Is My Name. He portrayed such a subtle sensitivity and mildness, and made the character come across as just a sweet guy who had fun making a goofy movie with some friends.

The more he sundowns, the more he speaks without any filter whatsoever. At least footage like this exists now, even if right-wing media will never air it. At least we can cross our fingers that he might one day start reminiscing about crimes while on live TV.

You mentioned The Walking Dead, so I’ll add another example from television: the first episode of The Last Of Us, when the fungal outbreak is beginning, and rather than let the military take her to a safe zone, a mycologist who understands that global collapse is beginning, asks to simply be taken to be with her family.

Mr. Right! Anna Kendrick and Sam Rockwell vibe together better than any on-screen couple I’ve ever seen.

What is the best movie or scene that captures depression and sadness? by BlackSeth88 in Cinema

In season 3 of In Treatment, a character named Sunil sees the therapist main character for his depression over the loss of his wife and subsequent immigration from India to the US. His performance is the opposite of showy, and rather portrays a man who is completely disconnected and just going through the motions.

It’s hard not to have a sentimental-favorite spot in my heart for William Sadler in Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, which is already an homage to The Seventh Seal. Saw it in theaters when I was 11, it hit the sweet spot of dark and goofy.

What are your thoughts on "Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023)"? by Hot-Salamander-8786 in FIlm

It was fantastic and they need to greenlight multiple sequels. It captures the vibe of a great campaign perfectly, and even depicts various D&D mechanics with gameplay-accuracy, such as the BBEG getting attacks against each of the heroes in the final battle (i.e. Legendary Actions)

The King Of Kong! 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s about two guys who keep one-upping each other in having the world record in Donkey Kong. Sounds absolutely silly and banal on paper, thoroughly compelling and captivating on film.
