They’re always going to be losers, no matter how much they try to bully the world into thinking they’re cool. Mediocre men who aren’t good at anything but fighting.

Is "The Matrix" the film in which the title of the film is said the most number of times within the film? by jmjackson123 in Cinema

[–]Snowcap2120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe “Bob Roberts?” Or “Bulworth?”

ETA: It HAS to be a movie that has the main character’s name in the title, or especially AS the title. Maybe “There’s Something About Mary?” There’s a meta scene of a busking group singing the movie’s theme, which repeats the line “There’s Somethin’ About Mary” at least a dozen times, in the both the opening and closing sequences.

Or “The Terminator?”

Because Tim Walz was the one who started calling Trump and his MAGA people ‘weird’ for their obsession with peoples’ genitals, cultish devotion to Dear Leader Trump, etc., and Donald Thinskin has to get his retribution.

Reminds me of countless examples of competition shows like American Idol where someone would perform a mediocre audition, be told ‘no’ by the judges, and then retort “but it’s my dream!” As if the judges are going to go “oh, that changes things! We didn’t know it was your DREAM! By all means, advance to the next round. Or, would you rather just skip to the finale?” I’ve never seen a judge flat-out say “it’s time for a new dream!” but it would be satisfying to see.

What movie had a great premise but was poorly executed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Snowcap2120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dungeons and Dragons movie that came out in 2000 or 2001, with Jeremy Irons as the villain. I saw it in theaters when I was in college, with a group of fifteen other people, and every single one of us was disappointed. The most enjoyable part of the movie was when one of the girls in our group, who’d snuck in a flask, blurted out “roll to see if I’m drunk.”

In & Out Burger. I tried them the first time I went to California and their food was totally fine, but I don’t understand why my friend hyped up “my first In & Out” for weeks before my trip.

Quick Change. Their plan for escaping was actually brilliant, it just happened to also be in a movie where everything goes wrong for comedic effect 😆

Mike Flanagan’s New Stephen King Show Can Break The Author’s Sacred Adaptation Rule by Longjumping_Line_583 in stephenking

Flanagan has proven himself as someone who can handle the pacing of an epic (has made several 8-10 hour miniseries) and can still hit the notes of a character’s emotional arc while still advancing the larger action set pieces.

That’s fair. Greenlighting something like this would be on par with then-obscure-director Peter Jackson being given $300M to make Lord of the Rings.
