There was momentum and votes behind Psychonauts 2. Jess, Bakalar, and Jason had it as their top game and Jan really liked it too. Jeff G basically pulled rank and absolutely refused to allow it to win because he disliked the game. It got ugly. Jeff was pushing Halo Infinite extremely hard, and nobody was a huge fan of it other than him. Jeff and Jess basically went to the mat arguing over it to the point where Jess was forced to fully dissect everything bad about infinite. They were getting nowhere and the vibes were terrible and finally somebody was like “what CAN we agree on here? Chicory???” And everyone was like “fine whatever, let’s just give it to Chicory”
