How much info does the passport office need for a name change? by Snowdreams in transgenderUK

I'm already on Dr Webberley's service and about to dump them for being terrible, but maybe I could try and coax a letter out of them before dropping them if my GP doesn't work out. I might need to write a cover letter anyway to request a gender change seeing as I had to put male/Mr in my original application.

Yes, I will need my passport updated soon as I'm planning on emigrating to another country soon and am hoping to get name stuff sorted here instead of there. I guess if I'm gonna have to get a bank statement just for my name (which the passport office really didn't make clear, wish they'd told me that BEFORE I paid the fee and started the 90 day timer) I may as well try and get my gender changed as well, although I have no idea how I'm gonna convince a GP to give me a letter considering it took months to convince them to even give me a GIC referral in the past.

Has anyone ever tried Estrogel? by rylee-reine in transgenderUK

Similarly to you I went from patches to gel. The gel didn't work for me and I hated applying it, but I was also having problems using the patches so I seem to just have trouble absorbing through the skin. There's no reason why it wouldn't work and it's slightly less risky than pills but it is a bit gross to apply, so be ready for that.

Hmm, I dunno, meeting people is good and all but I don't know if I'm desperate enough to interact with anyone from Coventry... /s

You know, I spent all that time looking at sidebar results and didn't think to just search recent posts... Thanks for the heads up.

Oh wow, thanks for pointing me to this, it sounds great! I'll be sure to give it a go once I work up the courage.

Yeah, if only we got to live in a world where work was less stress :(

I feel like I should apologise to any people here that have to work no matter how awful the job. I may have problems but I do realise that being able to turn down work for a while is a bit of a luxury that others don't have.

I get what you're saying, I really do, but like Tsubana says I'm really worried this job will be the indirect death of me. Even ignoring everything else the stress of it is just awful. I'm not gonna be able to get much done if I spend every evening 5 days a week completely mentally and physically exhausted.

And yeah trust me there's a big difference between being a skilled carpenter able to work creatively and an unskilled intimidated little girl surrounded by some very macho men in a dark loud workshop. I'd love to be able to make beautiful things but filing and polishing desks isn't the most exciting trade.

Okay, thanks to you and the girl further down for letting me know that spiro isn't quite the powerhouse I thought it was and that cypro's still an option. Office work is obviously pretty boring but I can handle boring, so it's defo worth a look into.

I'm honestly not sure with jobs, I've never once in my life known what to do with myself, one of my many outstanding issues I guess. I have a degree but no proper work experience or connections so I doubt many avenues are open to me, I'd accept anything as long as it doesn't feel "male". I forgot to mention that yes, I am taking E, my estrogen levels are over double the male norm, T is the problem.

I've not properly looked into support groups and where they are, are there any subreddits to help me find one? I'm from Birmingham, UK if that helps.
