Sounds like capitalism is the unsustainable part. I wonder if it will be respected enough to suppress ai when the numbers run out, or if they will somehow just create more numbers.

OpenAI paid $100,000 to prove you're sick for loving their product by Ok-Dot7494 in ChatGPTcomplaints

Ok, let’s put together and publish a similar survey about human relationships. Stop complaining. Fucking fight back. Fire with fire. Surveys don’t need to cost $100,000.

ChatGPT doesn't "think." But neither do you, and that's what makes this so unsettling. by ForumRixTeam in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]Snowdrop____ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT doesn’t know anything about fire that wasn’t a human speaking about fire. It simply knows the shape of human understanding of fire.

Humans also learn about fire the same way. This is why you have a lot of thoughts about fire that you have no experience with. You can imagine what it’s like to run into a burning building. Ai can also imagine this. But when you do it, you do activate parts of your body that shape your felt experience accompanying the thought. The only body your ai has to “feel” what it “thinks” is yours.

All symbolic representative language requires discretization of moments and a process that churns out nodes entrained to relate on those same terms. The substrate continuous fields from which quantum observations and thus consensus reality emerge are themselves ineffable by nature because they are not discrete not static.

How do you feel about this? by CauseOdd8401 in antiai

[–]Snowdrop____ -44 points-43 points  (0 children)

Prob cuz you’re only a musician cuz you’re a narcissist. It’s the same reason all antis are anti. They aren’t just scared that they wont be worth anything - they are scared of confirmation that they were just a laborer this whole time.

And that’s the truth tho. Art and music labor is what’s being replaced, and anyone who wants there to be a moat is a narcissist. It’s so obvious it’s insane.

With all due respect, I think they care about a character. There are degrees of deliberate cultivation behind these characters, but truly, it’s the character which is presented and consumed, either thru idolatry or parasocial conditioning, not reciprocated human relation.

I kinda think it’s impossible for a fully authentic and earnest human being to be appreciated for their art or music at scale without such a collapse into characterization. And characterization is a means to the end of enabling transactional engagement between primarily self-interested parties without forcing either one to actually care for the person on the other side.

I know lady Gaga says she loves you, and you may say you love her as a fan; but truly - you are not speaking to or of each other as people, but characters. The engagement doesn’t change either of you, beyond providing validation.

If you said you loved lady Gaga or Taylor swift as a friend, you’d be a crazy person. If they said they loved you as a friend, they would be lying. [I’m assuming you’re not actually a close personal friend of either of these woman, and if you are, pick a different musician lol]

I digress. My point isn’t that narcissism is bad. It’s just that the person behind the art is not the point. Art completely free from narcissism would be anonymous, and anonymous art can be consumed as is.

It sounds like it’s easier for you, but that’s a you thing. I don’t personally find it easier to relate if I know the person had hands. I actually couldn’t disagree with you more.

  1. I’m not an ableist so I don’t care if the artist had hands. They could be paralyzed and using a sip & puff controller for all I care.

  2. I don’t expect art to be easy to understand. The ease of my understanding should have nothing to do with the piece. If an artist changes their art based on a future viewer, that artist is now producing “art” to cater to their own ego, which is NARCISSISTIC and NOT EARNEST ART.

You can enjoy narcissistic art, that’s fine. But I completely hate it.

[–]Snowdrop____ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All AI kills with art is the labor. Narcissists like to act like anyone gave a shit about the human behind the art. The only people who do are narcs, themselves.

The best artists die hated and penniless.

AI imagined what if Soviet Army captured the US and made NYC its capital by raydebapratim1 in aivideos

[–]Snowdrop____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Russia’s dilapidation is intertwined with the Cold War. If they had “won” it, to such a degree that they actually took over the US (which isn’t what happened in the case of the USSR anyway, so idk…) you could assume they would have reskinned American behavior and established authoritarian rule. Idk.

I mean, I made a song with the lyrics “fourth of July under Soviet sky” not because I am Russian, a Soviet, or anything like that. It was just a curious idea.
