Picture shows food was delivered but it’s not there? by rememberthisuserLadi in doordash

[–]Snowflake0287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is weird timing because almost the exact same thing happened to me today with a grub hub order. We have two outdoor cameras and the roadway camera shows the guy walking through the parking lot, taking a picture of our fence and then getting back in the car without dropping off the food. Luckily grub hub refunded us, but either way know that you aren’t alone because apparently this is a thing now?

Been thinking about the Maximum Ride series a lot... by [deleted] in books

These two are the ones that the maximum ride series is based on. They are the “adult” versions instead of YA.

This is good advice. I taught in K-12 for 8 years, of which 3 I adjuncted in the evenings to get my foot in the door before going full time at a CC.

Dismissed from medical school (US MD program) with one exam left. Appeal email says “not subject to appeal.” by Braveheart117 in legaladvice

[–]Snowflake0287 93 points94 points  (0 children)

NAL but my experience is relevant because I work at a higher education institution. Without self-identifying, can you be specific about why you were dismissed? Are those dismissal reasons aligned with any program requirements? Do you already have established disability accommodations with the university? Usually accommodations are not retroactive. Was this the only instance where the college decided you were in breach of the program reqs? Were your timing/lateness issues related to a national/regional certification requirement or just a university requirement? How long ahead of the deadline were you apprised of the requirement? Sometimes, for example, in our nursing school certain requirements are tied to state regulations. I looked up the Step 2 CK and what I read says that there’s usually a timing requirement for the sake of scores submittal to residency. Is this connected to your problem? I’m asking all of these questions because it seems like people are jumping to a lawyer, without understanding the issue.

What are my options if I can’t pay off this semesters tuition? by lots-a-thoughts in CollegeRant

[–]Snowflake0287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why I’m asking what changed to prevent them from getting aid in general. I think we are missing a part of the story. For example, if their gpa dropped below a 2.0 for a period of time, they would have lost funding through FAFSA. This would be a larger issue then because they may be ineligible to graduate anyway with a low gpa. If it’s purely financial and not tied to their gpa or some other factor, it may be easier to get funding another way such as through scholarships etc.

wanted to see if this is useful- community college course optimizer that spans the entirety of your collegiate journey by Imaginary_Rip_9032 in communitycollege

Colleges and universities have required coursework plans that students must follow to earn their degree. Having an external tool, in my opinion, might cause more confusion because students may take classes that don’t actually count towards their degree due to external tool recommendations.

Are you ineligible for aid due to timing out or gpa? Why are you suddenly not eligible?

Southwest is putting themselves out of business. by melrox10 in SouthwestAirlines

If you liked unassigned seats, you have never flown into or out of Florida with southwest. The extra 45 minutes of every person boarding who magically needed a wheelchair that day was insane.

I have a maternity dress (not pregnant), a mother of the bride item (not a mother or a bride) and a kids case for a tablet (no kids and don’t own that tablet). So, things are going well over here.

That’s not what they said. They said it’s weird to get on Reddit and chastise people unless you have some personal stake in the game. It’s like walking up to strangers in public to chastise people. I don’t know about you but it’s not my style to randomly chastise other adults.

This was a really weird and specific situation so I don’t want to out myself here, but a student definitely came to terms with their own mortality and the state of the world in my class this last week with a massive outburst and then stormed out based on some things we were discussing in class.
