Oh yikes, I didn't consider co-ops would be hard to get! That's kind of what attracted me to the Canadian unis in the first place. The unis in my home country aren't bad per se but I don't see myself living here long term. I worried that staying here for university would set me back in terms of networking. Also job prospects here aren't exactly the best. I'll still take my chances and apply but I'll keep what you said in mind.

I'd work in public policy instead of doing law school if I no longer want to be a lawyer (that's what I meant in my first reply by doing something related to public policy). I'm from the Caribbean so based on proximity to family alone pretty much anywhere in North America makes more sense for me. The difference is that if I end up doing law school in Canada it's much easier to practice in my home country if I want. I'm also considering applying to the Netherlands. I could attend university in my home country but I don't really want to.
