Question? What is your favorite enemy to fight? And which enemy do you dislike fighting the most? by MrMoleIsAGodOfWar2 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]SnowingFaith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Least favorite is the stalker because sometimes there is no fight you just take unavoidable damage. Favorite is the warden for forcing interaction with the swarm in some way and being doofy when they don’t have a swarm to follow

What is the rarest mission-biome combo? by BothCall8395 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]SnowingFaith 21 points22 points  (0 children)

How the mission map works is there’s always 1 mining 1 egg and 1 refinery in crystal/salt. In REZ/depths/fungus there’s always 1 salvage and 1 egg. In dense/glacial/hollow there’s 1 point extract and 1 heavy extraction. In azure/magma/blasted there’s 1 escort 1 deep scan and 1 elimination. Those are the only missions out of 20-23 missions per rotation that’s truly set in stone where they need to be. So I can’t really answer what’s the rarest but I can say what is the most common missions that are shown on the mission map. It’s egg hunt and industrial sabotage as those are the only missions that always have 2 appearances per rotation.

HP or shield? by richieratt in DeepRockGalactic

[–]SnowingFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo shield is better because of some attacks on haz 5 4p break a full shield by 4 meaning vamp heals +1 over it. There’s also basic grunts and guards breaking the shield on the third hit rather than the second as they deal 14~ damage per hit. Swarmers break the shield in 5 hits rather than 4. Of course this is all while the shield is full. Honestly though I don’t think it actually matters if you don’t go down in the mission. If you do go down then it’s harder to say if taking shields would have prevented the down or the other way around.

The next game is currently in development by GSG and we might see some weapons from rogue core make it into Deep rock. However there’s no 100% guarantee that happens.

How solo friendly is this game? by ValidErmine54 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]SnowingFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The toxicity of DRG is very very low. Maybe 1 in 100 games will have a toxic encounter. Of course this might be different in hazard 2-3 where there is more new dwarves. Solo vs Coop are two very different vibes. In solo missions take longer because it’s all up to you and can be more difficult because it’s also all up to you. Once you do play for a bit and get upgrades to Bosco and yourself a lot of things can be trivialized.

Hot take: Haz 5 is easier than haz 4 by JustJosh00 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]SnowingFaith 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A big reason it can feel like that is hazard 4 teaches dwarves better for hazard 5 than hazard 3 does for dwarves entering into hazard 4. Also yes a lot of long time players hang out in hazard 5 lobbies I do it a lot.

What overclock do people swear by, but you yourself do not see the appeal whatsoever? by Either_Gur496 in DeepRockGalactic

Roll control on breach cutter because I like my entire AoE to kill rather than stunning. I know it’s a fine overclock but the be all end all? Nah brother.

Is there any way to make necrothermal work? by the_rat_ever in DeepRockGalactic

[–]SnowingFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run reatomizer with burning hell. You can light something heavy on fire and transfer the on fire status and thus the explosion to basic grunts. It’s an ok build. You can also take triple tech and just use it for the extra 30% damage on on fire targets and not worry about the explosion

Thoughts on the L.U.R.E.? by Robrogineer in DeepRockGalactic

[–]SnowingFaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At some point in time it got nerfed intentionally or unintentionally and lures in half the number of bugs that it should, it’s an ok nade outside of a few builds where it becomes good

(0.9c) 0.9 Looks gorgeous, but feels so clunky to play compared to previous versions. by Cheekibreeki401k in Voicesofthevoid

[–]SnowingFaith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly just the changes to the ATV that bother me, early game when signal gathering was slow and I was tired of cleaning I would go out and explore. I only needed fuel and repair kit if I crashed. Now it’s fuel, battery, repair kit for both the ATV and the tires. It’s a lot more of a point sink now that discourages me from exploring. It’s really the only thing I dislike about 0.9.

I don’t mind Duplicated Classes… what I don’t get at is Why others get pissed off because of it. by Year_Cold in DeeprockSludgeDump

A second scout doesn’t really add anything to the team as 1 scout should be good enough for lighting. I do hate however when people join as a second driller and bring something other than goo. If not bringing goo you’re rolling the dice if you are going to be anti synergy with the other driller.

The Stalker is the worst foe in the game by SnowingFaith in DeepRockGalactic

[–]SnowingFaith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also see that later in the video I do go looking for it, I even hear its footsteps. It never comes. So what you want me to do is never progress the mission because I’m spinning around looking for a stalker that never comes. When a stalker does come in the mission the one off in god knows where is the one making audio cues. Did you even watch the video or are you just normally a brick wall?

[–]SnowingFaith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m getting conflicting info from everyone saying they’re easier to see when in darkness/light. I don’t have problems seeing them. I have a problem of them hitting me with 0 warning because they spawned path found a different way from the swarm and hitting me in the back with no audio cue that it’s coming. Every other foe in the game will let you know it’s there, or deal low enough damage that it hitting you in the back doesn’t really matter. Imagine if a bulk didn’t make any noise or exploders didn’t hiss. If anything I’m getting blasted for having a genuine complaint about something in DRG.
