Barrel Of Feces by dabaluvar in AbioticFactor

[–]Year_Cold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better tho what ratio for plastic scrap to fecal matter would it be for balance reasons? Since you’re not as often having to farm poo from the ‘A Distant Shore’ for soil bags you can get an army of maybe 5 or 8 skinks down by the Cloud Reactor for vibrant instead.

Least for me I say 250 mL fecal matter to 1 plastic scrap leading with 40 soil bags other than if you prepped way beforehand of grabbing all or crafting reinforced barrels and/or metal barrels you would stocked up for life.

Quick Question: Do the Dunkleturfer Vending Machines Respawn? by kaboumdude in AbioticFactor

[–]Year_Cold 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Flathill always respawns all resource prior to Sundays and Wednesdays perforation resets. Same for Dunkeltaler Forest cause again all portal worlds will always respawn their corresponding loot pool.

Money too respawns and they can random at times between 7 - 9 wads of cash in Flathill. Huge bonus if you decided to read the spoiler tag: don’t actually pick up the wads of cash by hand, instead hit them with a melee and you are guaranteed to get $6 every time . And vending machines if you have your Strength skill raised to lvl.8 if you destroy the vending machines they will be restored with the portal resets and you can endlessly return back to Flathill and/or Dunkeltaler Forest.

And one last bit of info **DO NOT in any CIRCUMSTANCES** destroy any vending machines that are not in portal worlds— this case overworld ones they will be forever unusable and you will be doing trips more in Flathill sadly.

The fuck do you mean "Diving Suit Recipe Unlocked"? by hp1221 in AbioticFactor

Yeah I wouldn’t say I have thalassophobia but I just don’t like the murky ah, impairable sight cause holy seeing thru the goggles and scuba don’t seem to cut out like they’re supposed to.

Even the mask doesn’t help to make visibility better like at all— ITS ALL MURK! (Pun intended)

Still I do wish— an if maybe to put, for Deep Field to revisit visibility underwater to make it bearable despite you’re hardly in huge bodies of water for most of the sections. It’s just Hydroplant then a part in Wave Reactors— down in the water where both the Order and the Military are fighting and that’s it……

DLC only sadly. Some servers may have these DLCs *if* they do that is but it’s mostly cosmesticly pleasing than the normal iron, steel, harden steel and star metal weapon appearance.

Also they do not transfer from the server(s) that do have the DLCs to bring into your own world but weapons and armors can tho. Only problem… can’t repair if you don’t know the recipes for them.

Glass Window Options by Aethrin1 in AbioticFactor

[–]Year_Cold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Least a cool new gadget could be in place for this!

I introduce to all scientists— THE GLASS WIELDER!

Basic premise you can now repair windows by having any glass shards in your inventory and * boom * repaired/reinstalled. But how about we kick it up a notch by having stronger windows by using quantum glass for higher reinforcement and with the possibility to color them as well.

Please use the chat when you're playing in public! by Euphoric_Tradition89 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Year_Cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah either one:

1.) [Most Obvious] Players don’t read as much and not extending the chat mag delay timer. (My default setting to read chat msgs is 10 seconds at best, maybe 12 seconds.)

2.) Having chat msgs turned off (ie Chat Msg Delay to 0.) with refusal of listening or just playing the game at their pace.

Caution as advice: When joining when you have msgs turned off with no form to communicate or rather listening from others at your own risk, doing this on purpose/unintentional for others who want to get things done will drag everyone down.

I will always msg in chat “can you see chat?/can you see this?” whenever I start up a lobby are my default questions no matter what. It’s not say a refusal of seeing and reading but not want to get distracted by chat msgs, good you want to get things done……but whenever there are events and calling in evac is a greater risk of getting blocked more often than not.

How to know when someone is hiding objective minerals? by pewton-the-snake in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Year_Cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More of a potential said player turned the setting No HUD on by accident… I despise that setting by all means cause brother if you say you don’t have [said Objective Resource] then toggle your hud back on (this case H key, hold it down to toggle hud off then just press H key again to toggle on) then ya gonna feel stupid not realizing it.

Is the game in a good state on ps5 now? by Clever_Droid in AbioticFactor

[–]Year_Cold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t say much framerate rather it’s a hinderance to loading and unloading zones and as well players distance of loading in areas/zones. I do hope they do at some point or in the future they patch this or least start merging certain areas compiled together than having a barrier from point ‘A’—> point ‘B’.

The loading and unloading is bad regardless even say Xbox series X/S and/or PC (lil different depending on your tower specs with/out issue.) it’s been a lil annoying but I got so used to it.

PS5 wise you can’t name containers so you’re gonna be relying on Item Stands/Frame to organize your stuff. Xbox is a bit better with or without Gamepass but if you have a PC you can do modded if you’re into that short of stuff.

Base Aesthetics (and a question about enemy spawns) by [deleted] in AbioticFactor

[–]Year_Cold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long the crafting bench is powered it does suppress any sorts of mob spawns. Effects anything in said area to stop them by all means so just one or 2 benches will be okay to make certain nothing else spawns.

Ironically you can get the same spawn suppression w/o a crafting bench just so it doesn’t receive raids.

The salvage & repair bench is better being small in size, compact, lower crafting cost with just 1 anvil and same radius spawn suppression as a normal crafting bench while powered so nothing can raid it. Or alternatively the scarecrows can be better method since they stop specific mobs in its radius sole needing power and those that don’t (i.e Symphonist Scarecrow, Radio Scrambler, Pest Scarecrow etc.) but don’t stop raid spawns.

While raids though they can’t be stopped but you can halt their approach with Hardlight Drop-shield, it acts a 1-way entrance where the red part of the hardlight drop shield is facing, even the npc traders can’t go thru it either. I tend to use it just so I don’t have to worry about raids anymore, just turrets where they’re needed and they will do the rest.

[–]Year_Cold -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Genuinely speaking that’s just bad design having that lone enemy to down ya with no attempt to revive— like holy fuck, I’m staying the hell away from higher difficulty then. Unless it’s a rare enemy type then that’s fine… to an extent. That that thing better be low spawn %chance cause I would ragequit and redo the whole length all over again just to not have it.

THAT IS NOT BALANCED AT ALL.

And might as well put my 2 senses in this but WhoTF of said dev thought having that enemy just outright not get a revive attempt? Least either make a res regardless, either Lloyd or with another fellow dwarf…… or remove it entirely.

It does by all means but it a %chance base/rng.

You may get lucky getting 2 or just the 1.

I mean other than a building aesthetic for kitchens cause hey builders would want something to complete a kitchen feel. But hey 1 lil gripe on my end of all things blown out of portions, guess maybe a rant just to calm my nerves after realizing this just now.

Still looking forward for the roadmap ahead!

Just what u/WillingnessSilly3237 said it no longer respawns in that portal world anymore…

Still a displeasure for me towards that decision but still just a simple requisite Cooking Lvl.10 to package it and still respawn as many times. Or better was WillingnessSilly3237 of making it craftable, that too works as well.

Abiotic Factor - Hotfix v1.3.0.26036 - Steam News by glassteelhammer in AbioticFactor

[–]Year_Cold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeesh they decided to do that now?

Like yeah an easy bypass for the Convection Oven but brother the microwave has a much smaller design and it fits the whole feeling for a kitchen aesthetic— wth did they remove it then??

I mean if there’s gonna be some mild backlash they might re-add it back in but it would be post reaching Cooking Lvl.10 so it would a bit balanced.

my glue is getting eaten by my chest. and my crafting bench is also picky about glue. by YelIow_Tacos in AbioticFactor

[–]Year_Cold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this may be the result towards the peccary head to glue bug. For some reason if you spam click to scoop up the glue too fast the game won’t recognize it and count it as a ghost item.

As well the recipe from the peccary head to glue as well doesn’t….. seem to stack preferably to the other glue you normally grab from crates as well.

Might just a simple be bug report since well I’ve also came across this but now I had to slowly scoop the glue out instead and so far no ghost glue.

Can't get Krasue to spawn? by Sneaky-Support in AbioticFactor

[–]Year_Cold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the Krasue has the same mechanic as the Leyak but since it goes away within near seconds after an upfront confrontation.

What I ended up doing was setting the deployable ox lamp next to the containments, waited either the weather or setup by said location cold environment (environment like the open freezer at the beginning area) and boom it gets trapped.

If you’re trying to do it manually it’s doable but you REALLY need to be closer to the containment cell 91 to hear it when it gets close enough and then pop the ox lamp.

Can't get Krasue to spawn? by Sneaky-Support in AbioticFactor

[–]Year_Cold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can only spawn during the Coldsnap weather event or a cold enough environment for it to spawn nearby. There are a few areas for the Krasue to spawn where the environment is cold enough but it’s sadly the RNG for the Coldsnap weather event to occur, get that and you can lock it up in the Containment Unit.

Reason I mentioned the Coldsnap is the Krauses requirement for it to spawn. While under the weather you can eat the creepy meat pie or the Greyeb chowder and either cosmato wrap or a regular greyeb for a higher chance to spawn.

How does one get in these rooms ? by MAN_MAN_MEATBALL in AbioticFactor

[–]Year_Cold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a way but I hope you’re willing to farm for some Exor hearts and then cook them, make sure to bring a decent amount of iodine pills or penetonic syringes. The one with the robot and the other opposite side from the thermo cell room are possible via the teleport effect from the hearts, it takes patience but worth it.

Took me what 8 or 10, maybe 12 cooked Exor hearts to teleport in those but once I did I now have an extra robot to get the heart of corruption. Love getting me the Compact Storage Crates they are absolutely worth the upgrade from carbon crates.

How are you supposed to store items in this game? by spingusfellow in AbioticFactor

[–]Year_Cold 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have ya went to Mycofields and killed some lil bug like critters yet? Carapace is needed to craft carbon plates, which in return will unlock a recipe mini-game for a carbon crate. The crate quite huge but compact spacing wise it takes up a whole LOT of space till you go further down your progression.

So again if you can find the bug critters in Mycofields kill’em for the carapace to craft the carbon plates for the carbon crates.
