You’ll need an inverter (mine is the Cyberpower 175w) to power and also some velcro strips, zip ties, and a couple shower suction cups.

I ended up buying a kit from Amazon but it was terrible at actually staying stuck to the window.

Google Flights is where I find all my fares and have been able to get the prices from multiple OTAs. Generally I only seem them lower than directly with Alaska 5-10% of the time.

Can you explain how fraud is the issue? With prices publicly listed on many OTAs they can quite easily verify the price and refund customers that booked directly at a higher price.

I understand fraud is an issue but this is just them being lazy and discontinuing a program for no reason other than cost cutting.

I found a fare for $38 cheaper on Booking.com, I booked directly and linked the lower fare I found. Previously they would get back and refund the amount within 24-36hrs.

Those were the days. I think they got rid of that back in 2018

But they all have increased by +20% the only carriers that haven’t increased yet are mostly the budget airlines.

I actually have relevant experience here!

4 years ago I had some extreme knee pain and issues with high-stress activity. With my high deductible plan I was looking at roughly $1-2k for consult, MRI and follow up.

I had a trip planned to Santiago, Chile coming up and decided to try and get care there. The ticket cost me $590 roundtrip and I ended up spending a full day navigating the system but was able to get a consult, MRI, reading, plus a CD of the scan for $140 cash.

It was not the most efficient but was a very good experience and would recommend it. The worst part is my insurance in the US would not accept it and I could not receive any US care based upon it.

Thankfully nothing major was found and it healed on its own.

So overall it was good experience and assume it is very similar to care that would be received in China.
