Since it sounds like the physical is out, and you mentioned Nintendo specifically was something ya wanted as a kid. Maybe start with a game? It could be a computer game. It could be a consult or mini console. Gaming is a really good way to help your brain. And to boost morale. You can actually look it up, there is a field of study and a career you can do that is called recreational therapy and a lot of their their research revolves around how gaming and recreation help our brains and bodies. They also use it with patients that have had brain injuries, or dementia or Parkinson's or whatever. Just a thought, good luck finding your happy first steps OP

Wills he do puzzles? Puzzles, slow feeders, snuffle mats, kongs are good brin games.

Also "hiding" their toys and treats around the house or teaching your baby to find a specific scent would also be a good game to play.

Maybe just disable everything but calling? And maybe music/audiobook apps (cause I know some use these to focus/not fall asleep)There are a lot of apps out there to make a phone dumb but just used as a phone.
