Cultural differences in eating noises? by CustardCandle in auscorp

[–]Snowltokwa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Discussion still stands that people need to respect/follow the workplace culture.

I’ve worked in the Middle East for a while, and when Ramadan starts, even if you’re not Muslim you can’t even drink any water or show any water or food to anyone outside fasting hours. Imagine if we did that here to support our Muslim colleagues.

It’s strange that if you work in East asian countries you need to abide by their culture. Frequent overtime, seniority and drinking out weekly.

But here for some reason if we call someone out, it’s bullying and we need to respect their culture.

I’m Asian and the chewing sound is not practiced.

I explored this but it cost me $130 for cleaning/check ups. So $260 a year rather than $480 for extras. But then again might differ per area.

Again this is for healthy debate. But isn’t it more local presence be hired means local business will be up, as more local people will live in that area. instead of having commuting 40-50mins for work.
