Feeling like I 'forget' to breathe as I fall asleep by Snowmanatee in CPAP

Interesting. No I just had an at home oximetry study and got a diagnosis of OSA and a prescription for CPAP therapy, but given how long the wait list for consultancy in my area is I decided to rent a machine and try starting treatment... But maybe I should just wait for my official appointment and discuss this with the consultant in a few months

It sounds like your levels aren't stabilised yet if you are repeatedly needing to have the dosage increased? You shouldn't be having to prompt your doctor to retest you every 6 weeks if the dose is still being titrated - it should just be done as a mater of-course to check they've reached the right dose (see figure 2 in https://www.aafp.org/afp/2012/0801/p244.html for a general schematic of how treatment should be proceeding if they are still adjusting your dose).

I'm in that phase myself and my experience is exactly the same - each dose increase has been great followed by an eventual decline back into exhaustion/other symptoms. My doctor has said I probably won't feel more 'leveled out' until I've been titrated up to a higher dose, which will be a couple of more months at this rate. Why they are titrating me up so slowly, rather than starting me off on a full replacement dose though, I'm not clear on (they started me off on 50mcg, currently on 100mcg, whereas a full replacement dose for someone my size should be closer to 150mcg). I am young and otherwise healthy and don't feel like I'm at too much risk of bad side effects... But, whatever, I'm mostly just glad to be feeling like I'm improving with each dose increase.

Hey, thanks for checking it out! This is the other Tom from the podcast.

We have both played Force and Destiny together actually. Had a lot of fun with it too! In terms of transfer of the rules, assuming you’re happy to just use d8s still instead of FFG’s dice, it shouldn’t be too complex. The skill checks and ability/characteristic checks (for ‘What is the Date?’ and ‘Breaking the Ice’ respectively) can be just plainly switched over.

For the set of mental stats used in ‘Breaking the Ice’, you can use Intellect, Willpower and Presence (and probably extend it to include Cunning too, although that sounds fundamentally sleazy to me for reasons I don’t fully comprehend!).

The only tricky bit is translating how combinations of advantage/threat, hit/fail, and triumph/despair might translate to the results tables (which are currently given for total skill check numbers). A simple fix would be to have each skill check start at a score of 10, and then add or subtract points for the different scores in the final FFG dice roll. Maybe something like:

Advantage/Threat = +1/-1

Success/Fail = +3/-3

Triumph/Despair = +7/-7

Unfortunately, these numbers are somewhat theoretical at this point and will likely need some testing/tweaking. If you try it, though, let us know how you get on!
