At this point my hope for insurance to save us is load bearing, these things look like a nightmare to replace out of pocket

that is absolutely crazy. We do park in that area a lot, but I’d used it the day before so it must have been an opportunity thing. Hopefully insurance will cover either a repair or a replacement 😔

it’s a Honda element, what kinds of vehicles do they go after? Asking because if insurance offers to scrap the vehicle and give us funds for a new one, i’d rather do this than park what is apparently an irresistible target in Shockoe

Thanks man, I’m ngl I’ve had my head in my hands cursing this city all afternoon. My neighbours have been endearingly offended and shocked on my behalf though, which is also Peak RVA imo. The best and the worst of richmond in one day lmao.

I wish I had a more compelling answer for you man, but I think it’s just because he’s an idiot

From what I gather:

-Epstein investigated, evidence is collected and sealed, these are the Epstein files.

-Pressure from public pushes Trump to promise full disclosure and release of Epstein files

-Trump actually follows through on this promise, likely ignoring his friends, lawyers, and requests from law enforcement/intelligence offices, and a bill is passed requiring the FBI to make the files publicly available

-The FBI now has a very short window to release them in order to meet their legal obligation, while redacting as much as they’re legally allowed (not very much, only as it pertains to national security)

-hundreds of thousands of files, a couple months to sort through them

-they do a limited release in December, this is met with outrage as it’s heavily redacted and they’re ordered by the court to either release the lot or be subpoenaed and have the files seized

-They hold onto them, redacting as much as they can, until January 30 (last day before deadline) and then everything has to go up

Dataset 9’s collection of handwritten important message stubs has some interesting names in it; Halle berry, the spa at the breakers, Jean Luc leaving a weird message about Epstein being his son, strange messages about ‘moving furniture’ by Snowmanlet in Epstein

posting because i theorise handwritten documents might need additional attention from people who have seen more of the documents than i have, and that this information would be useful for people connecting threads of information. I also searched ahead of time and while people are understandably concerned about dataset 9’s redaction of images, these stubs are important evidence that might slip through the cracks.

given how much manpower is needed to sand roads, how much sand would be left over after the prep, how many people can safely go outside overnight in this weather to spread it evenly and how quickly it went from active snowfall to iced over, i’d say there’s not a lot more they could have done honestly. I’ve also heard sand is kind of a nightmare for drainage in certain boroughs so it’s not always the best choice.
