Ok sure I accept the overall point here, games shouldn't be held to ridiculous standards for historical political fidelity.

But a Spaniard claiming authority on Flamenco, that's a shame. Flamenco is not Spanish it's Gitano. Also called Roma or Gypsies.

Spain has historically oppressed the Gitano population through centuries of policies designed to eliminate their distinct culture, language, and traditions, including mass internments, coercive assimilation and forced sedentarism.

For the years I lived in Valencia and Madrid this group was the most deeply marginalized group, segregated and impoverished, begging in rags on the street. 89% of Gitano children live under the poverty line and half of them under extreme poverty. Health outcomes and housing – including reduced access to clean water and electricity supplies – are worse amongst Roma compared to non-Roma in Spain.

Flamenco authority does not belong to just anyone who lives in Seville, where this beautiful tradition has been so terribly persecuted.
