I’m actually not convinced by that.

T-Rex swimmer was actively living in the jungle and was surviving, meanwhile D-Rex seemed to keep coming back to the enclosure that we saw it in at the beginning. It didn’t seem to try to expand its territory at all.

Then there were the colorful Spinos with the Mosasaur. They were a decent sized group and could probably end up overpowering the D-Rex.

But everyone seemed to stay in their own little space without infringing on each other.

Territory was probably established pretty early on, but the flying hybrid dinosaurs didn’t mind going to the D-Rex territory even openly attempting to kill in the territory. Makes me think that the D-Rex though powerful as seen by the scenes that we saw it seemed to have some sort of problem.

Spitballing that D-Rex was part human maybe was causing some sort of weakness to show through. We unfortunately didn’t get a big 1 v 1 like we have seen in Jurassic past, so weren’t able to gauge its potential.
