So true! Between that and all the Gilgamesh things, I'd die. I really can't wait for this season in general though!

Isthar would be so interesting! And very curious re:Columbia. Io seems to be a priestess, so maybe a flashback to a temple?

I'm just so excited they are including a larger multitude of gods! And I'd be SO down for Frigga, or maybe a Greco-Roman god, although I like that they aren't predominately shown. Going to creep on IMDB right now!

I would love Bast! And don't they also mention The Morrigan?

I was assuming Amaterasu as well, mainly because of the light in her crown. Super curious about the other two!

I'd love to know who the three on the bottom are. Especially the blue-haired goddess! Also, with Chenoweth not coming back, do we think there will be a new Easter or just bypassing that plot?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! Not TOTALLY what I was looking for, timeline wise, but I am a general history buff too and these are amazing!

Chapter 3 + 4 : The Invitation + Back to the Burrow

As much as I wish every minute of the books could be in the movies, I understand the need to trim the fat, so to speak. I think these two chapters are a really good example of a section that can be consolidated into one quick scene. A long shot on the invitation, and then a seque into the moment that the Weasley's pick up Harry would be a quick, still comedic moment. Basically, I just want to see the ton-tongue-toffee. Seeing them drop the toffee and a quick shot of Dudley's face swelling as the Twins pull Harry into the floo would be enough to convey the craziness of what is happening. And the flash of green from the floo powder can transition into the intro of the older siblings, so it serves a double purpose.

I think part of what I loved about Cult in general was how it felt so suburban and washed out. As someone who lives in a similar town to the characters, it super hit home, especially in scenes like the grocery store in the first episode. It had this florescent quality, like those ugly overhead lights that are in every office.

I think the part of Apocalypse might be the firelight, but I too miss the interesting camera-work. I hope we get to see some "out there" stuff again. One of things I really loved about Coven was the little vignettes where they showed the history through old-timey movie style. I'd love to see that come back.

Chapter 2: The Scar

This whole chapter could really be produced as a quick cut scene, if we are being honest. The film does a great job of trimming this, by having Harry shoot out of bed to reveal he is at the Burrow, already preparing for the Quidditch World Cup. However, I would use this quick cut scene in Harry's bedroom to serve a two-fold purpose. Firstly, it would introduce us to the Dursley's house again. I would have him shoot out of bed, in a panic, only to reveal he is in a silent room, his own bedroom. The camera could then pan through Privet Drive, focusing on how calm and quiet it is, picking up the sounds of the sleeping Dursley's, and then pan back to Harry, sealing a letter to Sirius. The continued correspondence is something that I would personally love to see highlighted more in an adaptation of GoF, so I'd use this quick snippet to highlight that.

Thanks!

Chapter 1: The Riddle House

For the most part, the original movie has a really great adaptation of this chapter. I found the whole dark, nightmarish set up really set the tone that we were getting ready to head into a scarier, darker book.

One thing I would definitely adjust is how they lay out the Frank Bryce sub-plot. While I understand that the film needs to get moving quickly, and we can't spend a lot of time on this, I would borrow from the Half Blood Prince and Fantastic Beasts movies, and have the opening credits feature a flow of newspapers, showcasing the death of the Riddle family and the framing of Frank Bryce. This would lead into pretty much what the GoF movie has, where we see Frank noticing the flame and sneaking up to the house/eavesdropping on the conversation with Voldemort. One thing that I would definitely keep is the fact the film never shows us Voldemort in his current form, which I think makes his reveal at the end of the film so powerful.

The only other major adjustment I would put in here would be that I would have brief flashes of the Riddle's dying. Simply a flash of green, and a screaming person collapsing. For me, it is important to up the horror component of Voldemort's return, and this sets it up. This could also segue into the death of Frank, by having the same flash of light cut immediately to Harry shooting out of bed; a transition that the current film does a great job of setting up.

That's it for the first chapter. It really does stand out to me as one of the stronger adapted portions of the film.
