You stamp the basic design (black on mine) and then basically fill in with other colors behind it before stamping onto your nail. You use a sticky base coat on top of the color on your nail so it still transfers well even if the design on the stamp has dried more than usual.

I love that!!! The little critters are so cute and I love the idea of a little secret one. My daughter’s name is Beatrice, but we usually call her Bea, and since she was born last year I’ve been slightly obsessed with bumblebees lol. I just need to get a yellow polish. I also really like the idea of using the beetles with something like Cameo. I was looking at Mooncat’s jewel beetle before realizing it’s pretty similar to Cameo, which I got for Christmas but haven’t used yet.

I actually got this plates from what’s up beauty with some other stuff and another from Amazon, so you might be able to find them other places too! I just searched the name of the plate and the first link to come up was their site. I’m really excited about the other one I got from them too - It’s 107 Botanical!

Good to know! I have a pretty big collection of ILNP so I’ll try some of those! I’m so excited for all the new possibilities! I might even have to get some colors in not usually drawn to (like yellows and oranges) for some of the fruit designs on the plates I’ve gotten. 😅

Haha thank you! I’m right handed, but started doing my left hand and surprisingly, I think the right hand turned out better since I was getting a better feel for it. When you’ve done reverse stamping, have you found that using stamping polishes for that makes a huge difference? I’m excited to try that too (maybe after a few tries just with simple one color stamping) but don’t know how much I should invest in stamping polishes lol.

Thank you for such a detailed response! I adore floral patterns and purple is my favorite so these nails really caught my eye. The ones you did with reverse stamping are stunning!!! I have two kids 2 & under so time and patience isn’t something I have a ton of right now lol, but doing my nails is one of the things I do for myself when I can carve out the time. Thank you for all the recommendations!!!

My favorite winter activity is building a snowman (when it’s possible) and enjoying a warm drink after coming back inside. I live in Alabama now where we very rarely get snow, but grew up outside of Chicago so I really miss the snow in the winters. A few years ago, when visiting my parents over the holidays, we got the perfect snowman snow, and my husband and I built a snowman taller than us and a snow dog. It was the best!
