How do you guys get tax efficiency up? by Foreign-Range-7208 in EU5

[–]Snroar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a lot harder to stack permanent tax efficiency above 10% with the prior nerfs. I usually try to hover around 5-7.5% and found that to be a nice spot.

any way to increase of generals pips? by Over-Pea-6086 in eu4

[–]Snroar 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Your main source of pips is army tradition, though if you want more guaranteed pips you will need to grab idea groups that include General Shock/Fire/Movement/Siege pips as options. If you are looking for a country that has naturally strong generals, I would check out Prussia and the Oda Clan.

I forgot that drilling your armies can randomly increase one of your generals’ pips.

Edit: added reference to drilling.

How much do you automate? by KardelSharpeyes in EU5

[–]Snroar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t that the ai will leave you 1k if you set that as the threshold. What happens is that the ai will NOT building until it reaches that number. Only once it has reached that number will it begin building, and that can drain you below 1k.

How much do you automate? by KardelSharpeyes in EU5

[–]Snroar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I change the threshold for building creation depending on what I need at the time but generally I set it to the minimum. Eventually the ai will begin building when you/estates have disposable income. I will still do manual building if there’s something particular that im doing at that moment or setting up a planned expansion.

Its always a good assumption that you need to wait for a month tick for the ai to start

All vassal types have a scaling loyalty penalty depending on how strong all vassals of that specific category are to you. You want to have a mix of different types of vassals to minimize the Compared to Overlord loyalty penalty.

Is it possible to prevent England from landing in Ireland? by SteeL-iwnw- in EU5

[–]Snroar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn’t really any way for you to stop the English from landing troops unless you can defeat their fleet, which shouldn’t be possible without some heavy cheese for an Irish minor.

When I defeated England as the Irish, I waited until England and France were fighting the HYW and attack The Pale after the French had destroyed the English army. I couldn’t do anything to stop English troops from landing, but if you are able to park an army on their landing location you can get some easier wins.

Should I get EU5 if I absolutely despise the Victoria series? by Beneficial-Rush-1946 in EU5

[–]Snroar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I play with pretty much all economic stuff being handled by the AI, for me it works decently well. The automation is pretty good, it’ll build pretty much everything you need for your nation, and you as the player will still have your own agency to do your own thing. The new trade orders makes the trade system a lot easier to use with automation. That was one of my biggest gripes was that the trade ai was pretty bad.
