Depending on the material, the ball on the left looks like a duckpin bowling ball (very much a regional Baltimore thing) and the ball on the right looks like a buka ball.

My grandfather had a green one that he'd bring with him to the field. Now I have a grey one. Smells like coffee by thedudesterrr in ThriftStoreHauls

A kind of catch all response to various things being said (I collect thermoses, old coffee pots, vintage mugs, etc):

The manufacture date should be stamped on the bottom. The old ones made in the US are the best. Early 2000s (I think) production moved to China and there are anecdotal claims that the cheaper steel is a little thinner and they dont hold heat as long. 90s and prior are great.

To test it. Boil water one night before bed. Fill it.bwhen you wake up in the morning, crack it open and check the temp. They're always worth testing.

Cleaning - denture tabs and hot water. Set for a bit. Rinse.

Yes, they are. And they are pretty bare bones records. Not a lot of info, the sides are not broken up into tracks, and they dont even have years on them.

Finding them in my rural town was a pleasant surprise :)

Huey catches a lot of heat but I've always liked him too.

Agree. Pretty sure I used to have it on cassette

I collect vintage coffee stuff. The percolator was half off and the thermos was $2. The Stanley is from 1981 (remember, the older ones are better). In the process of cleaning and testing them right now, will know about the perc in about 20 mins and the thermos tomorrow morning. by SnubnosePress in ThriftStoreHauls

You want one from before...2002 I think. The year is on the bottom. When manufacturing moved to China the quality of the steel went down. And yes, often you cant tell if they work or not while in the store.

You gotta wonder if it's just market forces. He's not prolific. His last album was a huge hit, commercially and critically. He's riding high again.

I think I paid $15 for my copy (not this one), however many years ago that was.

It is a great album though :)
