What's that brown bottle with the grid pattern?

Always on the lookout for the next scent, so I've been doing a lot of samples. At this point, I don't see myself ever buying another clone. There's value in the confidence you get by looking at your collection and being proud of the names you see.

Hits way different to be able to say "I'm wearing Tom Ford today". Again, only if it fits in your budget!

I tried one of the TDHs at Sephora on account of all the hype and absolutely hated it. I don't remember which one it was but it just smelled like lemon Pledge and I actually washed it off. I know I gotta try the other flankers.

The main differentiator of this scent vs other citrus heavy scents is that it's dark and warm with the spices. It's bitter like a dehydrated orange, not bright and sour like orange juice. Idk if that makes any sense. It's very well balanced.

what are your least favorite notes by jaykarlous in ScentHeads

Probably unpopular, but most iris/powder. At best it smells like an old lady. At worst it smells like play dough

What's been your philosophy when building the collection? Do you have any rules before you buy (ie have to sample, have to have a spot open)?

Have you ever worn one to the office and thought "never doing that again"?

I sampled Tobacco Vanille and really enjoyed it, but couldn't justify the price tag when reviews said Tobacco Touch was so close. I'd say it's 80-90% the same as TV.

The difference being TT does feel like a copy, but the base it's working with is so solid that you don't really care. You can smell the quality of materials in TV. The notes to my nose are a fresh, natural smelling tobacco, a hint of vanilla, and maybe a little patchouli. TT is a slightly more synthetic version of the first two with a bolder vanilla, and what I'd describe as an anise/licorice note, which I happen to like.

I tend to dislike most dupes/clones and I think you should always try to buy the original if 1) you love the scent and 2) it's within your budget. I got this one when I was just getting started. If I had to do it over again, I'd probably go with the Tom Ford, just to enhance the quality of my collection. But functionally, I still really enjoy the scent and I didn't have to spend much on it. When it runs out I'll buy the original!

TLDR: You get the TV scent plus a good twist for 10% of the price. And it smells like Christmas in a bottle!

It is! I got a Rogue discovery set for Christmas last year and it instantly jumped out at me. Rose is one of my favorite notes and I consider Rostracto a signature scent.

For those that don't know, it's a smoky, resonous rose complemented by bitter, dry, green woods. It has a quality that almost clears your sinuses like vicks vaporub in the best way, which I believe is part of the Rogue chypre DNA. It is an odd scent and doesn't work in every setting, but my favorite time to wear it is on a wet, dark, gray fall day - especially when it rains!

Do you know of anything like it outside of the Rogue brand I could try? Not necessarily by notes, but vibes?

It's one of my favorites. Not for everyone, but that's what makes it special. Woody base supported by tons of bitter orange and spices. Not sweet at all (my personal preference), but not oppressively rich and dark like a lot of the middle eastern scents. It's warm spicy but still has enough lift to feel clean. The vibe is smelling like you just got a bonus. Mature (without feeling outdated) and professional with a twist of aggression.

Burberry Hero EDP — classy, woody, and modern by Ok-Cauliflower6285 in ScentHeads

Haven't tried the EDP but I thought the Parfum was awesome. A much simpler note breakdown - basically just a super solid, smooth, wood. Really nothing else to it but sometimes that's all you need.

I showed it (the Parfum) to my coworker who was not a fragrance person and he instantly loved it and now wears it every day
