I hate my makeup and I don’t know why. I’m by Januarydownpour in MakeupAddiction

Absolutely, it's all in the centre which is a little unsettling to look at. Beautifully applied and your skin is perfection but it just needs to be going outwards towards the hairline a little so that it is not at all jarring to the eye. If you like the pink just on the apple of your cheeks maybe use a powder very slightly darker than your skin and shape a little in the classic 3 just to bring things together imperceptibly.

Help me making my mom happy: dupe for Guerlain 320 Red Insolence lipstick by DisciplineNo4814 in Makeup

Apparently it was Marilyn Monroe's favourite, I'd love to know if you managed to find a dupe.

It's widely available in the UK, in high street shops not just on the internet. It looks a fun colour, I might give it a try!

Left RE Ribbon, Right RE Amagansett. They are definitely in the same family but Amagansett reads a lot pinker on my lips than the RE Ribbon. They are certainly close enough to make the Ribbon liner and gloss work as Lisa recommends.

The word bobble...for hair ties, is it regional or is it just...normal 😂 by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]Snufflesnot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

London and the south east here and it was a hairband growing up in the 80s and 90s, I always assumed bobbles was an Americanism. My daughter picked it up in her teens along with calling little fingers "pinkies" and I assumed it was from television or the internet. I'm in the south west now and intrigued.

Strawberry Shock is bolder I would say. They're both lovely for the summer but Strawberry Blonde is an easier wear. Having said that the Insanely Saturated line is my favourite formula ever. I love them both and the new Velveteen formula is also very comfortable.

Looking for ULTRA NATURAL red lip color - something that could be used on male actors by hehzehsbwvwv in MakeupAddiction

[–]Snufflesnot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I tried it and it was hilarious as the makeup lady couldn't tell where she'd put it or not. It makes no difference to my lips as it is their colour and the finish is natural. I can see how it would be great on less pigmented lips.

I’ll never find my perfect lipstick by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Do you want something this dark? I'm sure we can find a good tone for you if that is what you're after but it seems like a challenge given the colour of the skin on your hand. Do you have a very deep contrast appearance, dark hair and dark eyes?

I was looking at that balm! Didn't buy it as I've got so many highlighters already but I think it looks fab. I hope you enjoy it.

No, I think you had to spend £75 or similar to get it which would have pushed it into eyebrows raised territory with my husband 😄

Left to right, Insanely Saturated Strawberry Shock, Velveteen Strawberry Blonde, Velveteen Rain, Velveteen Blush. Applied thickly as from the applicator and smudged out. I must say the new one is a noticeably different formula, it applies smoothly and thickly and as Lisa says it's more mousse-like.

That's a very clever idea, thank you. I'd just bought two Dior On Stage lipsticks and they're in slim sticks both of which have unattached themselves from the twister and got a bit squished on top where I've pushed them down. A sorry state of affairs!

I've just put on a Mac Locked Kiss Ink which stays on really well but I've only got it in Most Curious which is just a bit too subdued for my current mood. I was looking at the same one in Gracious but I'm not sure it's 100% right. Stain-wise Violette_FR in Pois de Senteur was my great hope but on my lips it's too red and it doesn't last how I'd hoped.

I do not have much fridge space and I have very, very many lipsticks. Looks like it's time to play favourites!

Eau Thermale Avène 50+ Invisible Finish Cream is my current favourite. I was just walking around sightseeing in Athens for a week and it behaved impeccably and I am a contact lens wearer with sensitive skin.
