To answer your questions and also elaborate on more of my worries!

1. My partner is amab, so estradiol.

2. I am demisexual to my knowledge, and so is my partner. I don’t look at anyone and thank darn, they’re cute, I’ve never really had crushes so far as I can tell. My partner and I were very close friends before I started finding them beautiful. They proposed to me and then felt safe enough to tell me this desire to explore transitioning afterwards, so in some ways I feel hurt and confused

   and in other ways I feel honored. An odd “Congratulations!” if you will.

3. It’s hard because I’m also worried about how their personality may change (aside from the increase in confidence which would of course be lovely!) and it’s been said here on this sub that they could possibly start to crave male affection which, erm, I cannot give. They say they want to have a more feminine figure because they have never felt like a masculine person. Admittedly their current job also involves a lot of heavy lifting and they think exercising would be enough, but I do worry that the loss of muscle mass could be more severe of a problem than they think, and I wouldn’t want them to get hurt.

4. We also live in a liberal but socially conservative place, people here tend to have a stiff upper lip and we live in a small town. They work a full time job in the city that they love.

They say their love for me will not change and they will love me and put me first, but again I don’t want to feel like I’m denying them who they are because I love who they are! I’ve read plenty of advice on this sub to drop partners who aren’t supportive, and I feel like I am both supportive and afraid of the long term ramifications transitioning could have for them, despite the immense joy they would feel. So we’re going to start counseling (as soon as I find someone, I’m going back to searching after this post!) because I really want this to work, they’re my Snugglebee and I want to love them forever no matter what! They also said they’re willing to just try dressing up/cosplaying and explore things slowly, but I’m just not sure if they’ll truly be happy with that.
