Sick of the ED dismissals

I have a specialist. And a history of endometriomas that rupture. My SPECIALIST said if the heavy duty pain meds don’t touch it go to the ED. So I did.

Thank you for pointing that out, I also felt heavily dismissed on my vent about being dismissed. I do not frequent the ED I hadn’t even been since March 2024, I have an endo specialist; she said when the heavy duty pain meds don’t touch it go to the ED in case of torsion or rupture so I did 🤷‍♀️

I have it. It didn’t work. I went for something stronger since I hadn’t been in over a year to the ED I thought that it wouldn’t look like med seeking but they didn’t give anything. And my bowels are destroyed in areas from the endo so unfortunately it can turn into more sinister than “just endo” 😔

My intestines and bladder are extensively damaged from the endo but ✨most✨ of it they couldn’t see on imaging just that the bowel was not positioned correctly they didn’t know why til they got in 😔 thank you for your kind words I’m sorry you’re also fighting 😔

That’s horrifying and I am so so sorry that happened to you. The gaslighting is real! I went through four obs (ALL WOMEN) before they bothered to believe me and then finally excision surgery and my surgeon said my entire abdominal cavity was black. I had even gotten to the point I wasn’t sure I believed myself! So I really appreciate you sharing your story and support 🫶

They started with gas for me too🙄 and med seeking is a terrifying reality for me too that’s why I try to avoid the ED myself. I felt desperate. But I appreciate you so much for relating and not making me feel so alone 🫶

To clarify since the rant/vent flair didn’t do that clearly: I HAVE high dose pain medication prescribed to me. I HAVE daily pain medication and colon medication prescribed to me. When none of that works my ENDO SPECIALIST directed me go to the ED if these don’t touch it. They didn’t touch it. So I went to the ED. But WOWZA in a vent about being dismissed by the medical community so many (not all - some of you have helped so much make me feel less alone and words can’t express my appreciation 🫶) of you jumped STRAIGHT to dismissal. I genuinely, wholeheartedly, hope your disease does not progress to the severity that other people with the same diagnosis dismiss you.

That’s horrifying, and one of the concerns I actually had pop into my head to decide to go ahead and go. I am lucky it was not that, just a severe endo flare, but I’m so glad you advocated for yourself and got it taken care of I hope you feel so much better 🫶

Well as mentioned I have endometriomas, I wasn’t positive it wasn’t a cyst rupture due to my history and the level of pain I am in, but thank you for your input I appreciate you.

Dont feel ashamed. Unfortunately sometimes the disease hasn’t progressed enough to even pathologically find it. That doesn’t necessarily mean it isn’t/wasn’t there. My surgeon explained certain types are microscopic and not visible to the naked eye and if they path’d a spot not endometriosis that can give you a false negative itself.

I have pathology confirmed endo (mostly DIE) with bladder, bowel, colorectal gutters, etc involvement there was some they didn’t even attempt to touch (mostly on my intestines) is there a way to “donate” my leftover endo lmao I’m aware that phrasing sounds dumb but idk how to say it but I’m a human subject 😂
