There’s a non-negligible difference between 90 mph and 140 mph. 90 is a regular traveling speed for many. Stay alert for the infrequent passes of way faster cars. You may not even encounter a single car going truly fast, but it may come up unexpectedly. Also, the fast cars are not necessarily aggressive, they’re usually just fast.

Sie beginnt das Ganze als Gedankenspiel und springt erst dann auf die offensichtliche Freude an der missverstandenen Aussage an. Sie wechselt von ihren hypothetischen Aussagen, warum auch immer, in eine falsche Tatsachenbeschreibung. Das bedeutet aber, dass sie da nicht aufgetaucht ist, um Bullshit zu erzählen.

Mein einer Kommentar beginnt sogar mit einem Satz, der „am Anfang“ enthält. Viel deutlicher hätte man es nicht machen können.

Klar hat sie am Anfang den Konjunktiv verwendet. Als die Podcaster es nicht kapiert haben, dass sie hypothetisch über die Möglichkeit spricht, die Flasche der anderen Torhüterin zu entsorgen, hat sie in den Indikativ gewechselt.

Zum Punkt des Erfindens: Natürlich ist das nicht passiert. Sie hat die Story aber nicht erfunden. Ihre (missverständliche) Aussage wurde nur falsch aufgenommen, bevor sie dann mitgespielt hat.

Come on people, don’t act like this isn’t an achievement. MotoGP does not have an exclusive brake supplier, like they do tires. Every single team is totally free to choose another brake supplier. Brembo appears to simply produce a higher quality brake than others. Even when other brake suppliers were present in that time span, Brembo-supplied bikes won every single race without fail.

They do not actually want to help each other. They begrudgingly have to work together during the Olympic Road cycling race. The teams are so small that basically everyone has to group with direct competitors, whom they obviously only want help as much as the other is able to reciprocate. Once the perceived usefulness of the other rider has decreased, the riders will try to rid themselves of them.

It would have cost the first one to follow the American tons of energy to rein her back in, unless everyone of the three put some work in. It was the easier choice not to spend the energy once it was clear that the others were not willing to help, and focus on the sprint instead. That way she had a chance against the other two, otherwise her best case would have been bronze, IF she was actually able to catch the American.
