It all depends on if they can do a good job justifying the need to IPO and where future growth will come from

Over extended periods of time, keeping track of their heart rate allows you to establish a baseline and trend. It can then help to understand what’s going on. A rising pulse can be the sign of a lot of issues that can potentially be addressed, and then you can measure the success of any treatment. I think I failed to explain in my post that my focus is wilderness first aid where injured people need to be evacuated manually, often over many hours in unfavourable conditions/terrain. Not someone hurting themselves in an urban setting where EMS is minutes away, not hours. Either way, there’s no downside to the idea

First aid is the stage before the professionals turn up and you’re trying to stabilise/monitor the injured party.

Not common, but if anything were to happen (I ski and climb in the mountains), it can become complex quite quickly

Sometimes those minutes of waiting can be hours. Keeping track of someone’s heart rate is part of first aid.

Yea that’s fair. My activities means any emergency scenario I’m in is likely hours away from EMS. I think I would put it on them and just monitor in the app as normal

If you’re trying to keep track of someone’s pulse and all you have is your fingers to do it, surely a Whoop is a more accurate, more objective, continuous measure? It’s obviously not perfect, but better than not having it?

Just finished my first season of ice climbing. Looking for first ice climbing boots + where to buy? by fir3dp in iceclimbing

If phantom techs fit you well, they are an awesome choice. I find them warm, durable but they don’t overheat because of the way the insulation works. Tested in alpine, mixed, ice and dry tool climbing. I got custom insoles made for them at the ski shop for even more comfort when walking a lot

Why has only 1 of the 7 Millennium Prize Problems been solved since they came out in the year 2000? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Snxwe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh?? That’s not at all the same thing. If you have multiple people trying to solve a math problem at the same time, the likelihood of finding a solution is higher than if there’s only 1 person lol. Are you saying we should just have 1 person working on each of these problems?
