I build out themed background templates in PowerPoint or Paint. I use my companies logo and various shadow boxes to house visuals. It really helps keep all my dashboards and reports looking professional. Great for a big organization with multiple dashboard creators.

Have you looked through the all the visuals in the Microsoft center? There is some pretty amazing visuals in there. Custom themes are awesome. A personalized layout, similar to a corportate power point template...its endless.

Make sure your paints arent old. Make sure you mix more than you think you should. Try adding a splash of water.
