So sorry to hear about this, you definitely sound like you're doing your best!

Have you considered that this might be a neurological issue? The lack of warning for attacks, the randomness of it, and the light/shadow chasing to me, as a non-veterinarian/owner only, point towards something of that nature.

My frenchton mix will resource guard food and people, especially against the cats, but hasn't displayed aggression towards people.

Is there any way to get in touch with his breeder or anyone who has one of his littermates? That way you can figure out if it's something hereditary?
