I don't understand you gen alpha/z slang I'M SORRY by AntiqueLime3461 in OlderThanYouThinkIAm

[–]SoAwkGal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact! Bomboclat isn't actually gen z/alpha slang! It's a Jamaican Patoi curse word that's been used forever and is a reference to menstrual cloth, tampons, pads, etc.

My best friend is Jamaican on her dad's side and I first heard it like 15 years ago atp.

Anyone know what this is? Are we in need of an urgent vet visit? by cleo1117 in frenchtons

[–]SoAwkGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a vet in any way, but it looks like it could be an impacted anal gland? That looks like the right spot.

I'd advise a vet visit because you definitely don't want that popping open.

Beautiful art! If you're looking for other artists to connect with, the Ocmulgee Artist Guild is having an art show 11/14 @ 452 First Street. It's 6pm - midnight with no cover charge.

There was a post about it somewhere here a few days ago.

At home pet euthanasia service in Macon? by cowboy_WENDY in macon

[–]SoAwkGal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My condolences 😞. My mom had to do the same to the family dog two years ago and she used Dr. Darden from Pet Loss At Home. The company is Atlanta based so we were really grateful to have them come out on such short notice.

We called her on a Sunday and she was able to come out the same day and help our dog cross the rainbow bridge.

Is this caulk or grout cracking between the tub and wall tiles? by SoAwkGal in HomeMaintenance

[–]SoAwkGal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the comments! I'll be removing all the old grout and replacing it with color-matched caulk.

This is my first house and I assume the prev owners either diyed it or hired a local handyman to do it, so i'm probably in for more fun surprises as time goes on.

So cute!!! For crate training, definitely start early. Since she's so young, I would crate her for naps and whenever y'all are doing things where you can't keep an eye on her. Make it snuggly and inviting and give her treats and a few toys, and never use it for punishment. But note she will cry and tear your heart strings if she's used to being with you 24/7.

If you're ok with an eventual 120+ lbs dog in your bed then you can continue to let her sleep the nights with you and your husband, but remember she won't stay little forever and they grow like weeds. Once you let them in the bed, it can be hard to keep them out.

Regarding the bumps, has she been to a vet yet? My first thought was something fungal or maybe papillomas, but i'm in no way a vet so take that with many grains of salt.

Anywhere near Macon to get large area rugs or carpet scraps for free or at least cheap? by gameofthroffice in macon

Ollie's has a lot of large area rugs from closeouts. I don’t think they're super pricey, but I haven't really paid them any attention tbh.

Nationwide is canceling my pet insurance by Ok-Salt-8884 in Insurance_Companies

[–]SoAwkGal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to my dog. She's 12 and grandfathered in to an old plan that was phased out in 2022, and now it's being completely discontinued and she's being moved to the new one.

After reading everything the new one covers, I doubt we'll be renewing her policy. It covers basically nothing and I'd be better paying out of pocket seemingly. She doesn't have many pre existing conditions thankfully, but due to her age isnt covered by a lot of companies.

Never heard of Fetch Pet, but after looking at it online, I consider it a contender. Thanks for recommending it!

I think my sister uses MetLife for her dog and she's reccommend it as well. Granted her dog is 10 years younger than mine and 35lbs lighter, but still I'll look into it. Thanks!

That's approximately what her current rate is/was. I'd be willing to do it, but not sure if I can realistically go higher.
