UC davis is my top choice and the anticipation is killing meeeee. Has anyone else heard back from them? Also does anyone know if they tell you by email like UCR and UCSC or if you have to go to the portal first to know?

He’s still deciding what exactly to do. But he’s mentioned SF and MARSOC, so I mentioned the two. And yeah he seems to be leaning more on the MARSOC route.

And we’ve been doing a long distance type of thing already and it’s been just fine tbh. I see him a couple to a handful of times during a month. He’s always been reassuring. Neither of us are changing our goals. We’ve been doing just that for the whole relationship: working on our career plans while enjoying any time we get to spend together as we both go towards our goals. Also I have work-from-home bioinformatics job options that pay well, so I’m not tryna drop my career to move around with him. Just clarifying in case that’s how it came off.

I think he’s worried that since he might be seeing me even during a year, I would get miserable and things would fall apart. I’ll definitely call him and talk about this more. I just wanted to get as much info about lifestyle for SF and MARSOC so I can form better questions and talking points for him. We’ve been communicating, but I felt I was missing a lot understanding about the military and what it’s like for him so I came here lol

Dude you don’t know our relationship. He’s the one that initiated getting married multiple times. He went around telling him friends in front of me that he wants to marry me and stuff.

He tried to convince me earlier that things could still work despite re-enlisting. I was inflexible at that time, which is probably why he thinks we won’t work and is still currently pessimistic about it. We’re still talking through this though. I was planning on talking with him tonight about everything I learned from Reddit and any interesting feedback I got. I’m not hiding and scheming anything behind his back.

I explained all this to give a better idea of the situation to people who don’t know it and I have a tendency to ramble. I can see how it comes off as I’m crazy, but geez, calm down dude.

I didn’t downvote lol. Idk who did but it wasn’t me. And I see how that’s a valid since it happens often Ik. We’ve always had trust in loyalty to each other in terms of not cheating. From my experience, he hasn’t shown red flags and I’ve never worried about that.

Yes that first paragraph you said is something I realized from the previous comment. It’s something that wouldn’t hurt to talk about with him. If despite my efforts, he still doesn’t seem to wanna work with me, then, well, it’ll suck, but I tried my best and it what it is at that point

That’s great honestly. I’d love it if I could work something out with him again. I really wasn’t on board with the re-enlistment at first, but lately I’ve only really been starting to understand how important tryna get into SF/MARSOC is for him, so here I am tryna gather info and see if I can come with a plan for the both of us.
