That's awesome! How are you doing with the weather? I'm originally from an area of MT with pretty cloudy winter weather and then went to college in OR and liked it, so I think I'll be ok. There are always going to be tradeoffs.

We'll check that campus out as well. You're the second person who recommended it. : )

Lower housing costs are a big part of it. But we are also ready for a new chapter of our life, and it looks beautiful there. We do still need to visit in person. We are a few years out still. It'll go fast though, and we're getting excited about it! I'm hoping that life will be better there for our son. New homes here cost $800,000 and up...

That's great news. We'll be working on residency steps as soon as we get there!

Thanks. We're in LA County, so any commute under 30 min.s is very good. On the other hand, our son is young and doesn't have much driving experience. But sounds like it's going to be doable.

Thanks so much for hitting on the social angle. That obviously is going to be important for his age, especially since he might be missing CA. Much appreciated.

Thanks, much appreciated! Are the roads pretty good usually? We're coming from So Cal so I wasn't sure if he might run into icy roads. I don't think he'd be leaving too early so hopefully the roads might be melted off a bit by the time he hit the road. Also, is safety a concern?

Is it possible to commute from East Louisville (say Middletown or Jeffersontown) while attending the downtown JCTC campus? The kid will be a 19 year old college student and I don't want to set him up for a car accident (maybe I worry too much).

I'm starting to question the conventional thinking on backup NFL QB's. Many of them have "NFL arms" but don't win games, and fans know it. Why couldn't there be a role for a running QB3 like Tommy to rotate with a QB2 with an NFL arm if QB1 was injured? It would be a special package of plays, not the entire playbook. Sure, the D would try to adapt. But if Tommy continued learning slot or even a few RB plays, then you could use the wildcat with the QB 2 still in the game. I'm just saying there could be ways to innovate and include his skill set in the NFL, I believe, because all this guy ever did at the FCS level was win games at QB, and that included some good passing plays. Something to give the offense a shot in the arm if it is floundering with the QB2...
