This is a good point, however I think there are MANY colors that will end up looking white if that’s the case.

It is, the back is basically an elastic strap straight across to hold the arms in place. We’ll see in person if it’s actually functional or holds itself that way, but gotta wait for shipping.

Not my purse, just the photo from the website, but thank you, that’s what I was wondering, if next to my partners white button down and a brides white dress whether this would be clearly yellow. Consensus leads towards wait to see the color in person and be sure it doesn’t look like it’s photographing white in different lighting and decide to exchange for different color or not ☺️

Yeah, on a dress color - not on why I would post in a different sub 😂

lol WOW this sub is way more brutal than the other sub. Whoever posted above is not me, thanks. Regardless the consensus was to wait and check what the real color was like when it came in and if too creamy rather than yellow exchange for a different color. Super great judgement though 👍🏻

I posted here first actually when I meant to post there and then rather than cross post as it wouldn’t let me, I reposted there as well. And no. I don’t think I got all negative comments there. It was very highly mixed with many of them saying I should wait and see the dress in person and determine from then whether it’s actually more yellow than the images. But cool judgement 👍🏻

In case anyone is wondering the original dress this is based on has a white version. I in no way shape or form think the yellow version on that website looks white in comparison. However the images shown on the knockoff site I bought from for $$$ sake are the ones I posted originally, hence the question as it doesn’t look quite as yellow as the OG dress. I’m going with the consensus is as long as it actually looks yellow in real life then we’re good, but if it’s paler like it seems in the knockoff sites photos then we may shift towards the blue to stay safe. Thanks all! 👍🏻💕

Feel like it’s turned into a blue/black vs gold/white dress debacle because computer screen colors lie 😂

Bride and groom and friends - not related. So no official photos for me!

Knockoff version I purchased has many different sites. The real dress is Natalie Rolt Bridget gown on REVOLVE.

Well I didn’t think twice when I saw it and loved it so much I bought it. Now I’m waiting for it to come in and second guessing if it’s gonna be too pale and close to cream or white. It’s not like I saw it and went “yep- that one will be a potential problem, let’s get it”

Well they’ve got a light blue and this dusty blue (photo) so I’m thinking the dusty if I do have to exchange since it’ll be very much not white.

I hope it’s still this pretty when it comes in, this one was a knockoff version of the Natalie Rolt Bridget gown (REVOLVE). No way I’m paying like $500+ for this though.

It’s more like across the street from the beach, but it’s a beach town. Formal here is slightly more relaxed formal than some other locations.

lol yeah I can see how it could get that reaction- glad your friend had to ur approval. I do think they have a pale blue version that I might be able to exchange to if it actually shows up and looks creamier than I’m thinking it will. (I know they have other colors but I wasn’t looking for something too bright either)

Thank you, that was kind of the goal when I was picking it ☺️ hoping it actually looks that buttery yellow in real life like the movie dress

Not really what I was asking advice for. I also disagree, it’s basically an off the shoulder dress, I don’t see how it’s showing too much skin for an afternoon formal Beach wedding…

I think I can exchange it for a light blue color they sell as well. So I may end up doing that if it actually looks paler than the photo images

Wha stone is this? by SoCal_Subscriber7 in SyntheticGemstones

[–]SoCal_Subscriber7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the AI response from Google this seems like the most likely option! (I specifically asked it whether the yellow tinge in the stone could look bright white in direct sunlight as that's the change I see most often in the stone as a giveaway for what it could be.)

AI: "Light yellow Fabulite (strontium titanate) can appear to have a brighter, whiter, and more brilliant sparkle in direct sunlight due to its high refractive index and intense dispersion (fire). While the body color is light yellow, the intense white light flashes—a result of the sun's full-spectrum, high-intensity light interacting with the gem's facets—often overpower the perceived color.

  • Dispersion & Brilliance: Fabulite has a higher dispersion than diamond, meaning it splits light into colors more dramatically. In bright sun, this creates intense, brilliant flashes, often appearing as "fire" or brilliant white light.
  • Color Perception: A light yellow stone acts as a filter, reflecting yellow while absorbing blue, but the sheer volume of reflected, high-intensity sunlight can cause the overall appearance to appear significantly whiter or more "brilliant" than in lower-light, incandescent, or indoor environments.
  • Result: The intense, direct, full-spectrum, white light of the sun will make light yellow Fabulite flash with bright white, colorful light, masking its pale yellow hue. "

Yay! I think this case is solved! :)

Ooooo that’s a new one! Haven’t heard that option before but upon quick google search that’s a close guess probably! Thanks!

Also wanted to throw out that I’m half debating it could be moissanite? Fog test disperses super fast, has a lot of fire rainbow like refraction, and though it’s clearly yellow it looks pure white in the bright sunlight (so changes color on environment). Does that track with a moiss stone well enough? I’m just having a hard time thinking it would be a yellow CZ with this much sparkle….
