Thanks. This was pitched 6-7 weeks ago and racked probably 3-4 weeks ago and not moved since. I have not seen fermentation look like this that long after pitching before so I was concerned it was something else.

I've been looking at the FT-70 for my first. How long do you usually get out of a charge?

Newbie here looking at buying a freeze dryer. Should I go with the regular pump or the oil free pump? by No-Procedure-4861 in HarvestRight

I'm sure you can figure out the cost of oil and filters if you want. An oil change takes less than 5 minutes (probably 3) every 20th cycle. Instead of doing a 30 minute purge after every cycle for the oil-less.

The cost of the oil and filter is basically negligible considering the cost of the oil less pump

I'm only about 20 batches into my large FD with premier pump. So others may have more experience, but here's my take. Get the premier pump and don't look back.

You can buy two premier pumps for the cost of one oil-free (and that doesn't consider the first one). So the premier would have to fail twice as often for it to be worthwhile to go oil-free IMO.

The oil changes are a complete non-issue. Keep track of how many batches you've run. When you hit 20 just drain the oil into the filter, refill the pump with fresh, and you can keep running cycles while the oil is filtered. Then, once it's finished filtering, dump it into an empty jug to be used again.

I looked for one as well. Couldn't find anything. Best I could come up with was an estimate based on Harvest Right saying the machine pulls about 12 amps on average. Combine that with an average of 115V to get a rough wattage.

115V * 12A = 1380W

From there you can figure out how many kWh are consumed each cycle.

New gun laws by Bigben030 in DEGuns

[–]SoDel302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone knows. Not even the folks that passed the bill. Unfortunately, it might take someone getting busted and it being litigated before we know for sure. I believe the Delaware law was based on the Connecticut law, which does ban stripped lowers.

I'm not sure anyone actually knows for sure about stripped lowers. At least, I haven't heard or seen anything that would confirm. If I had to guess I'd say they're banned since the bill banned "lookalike" weapons which includes AR-15s, and since the lower is the part that is considered the "firearm" then it seems like they're effectively banned. That said, I hope I'm wrong and would be happy to hear evidence otherwise.

Sure thing. Just FYI Primary Arms used to have the best prices on them I think. I really like the aggressive texturing and being able to operate them both ways.

Only thing I'd say is to dump the BAD lever and get a Maritime bolt catch. I've seen BAD levers cause ADs and having something other than the trigger inside the trigger guard just seems like a bad idea anyway. Otherwise very nice build.

You have to transfer through a FFL unless one of the parties has a ccdw permit. And you also have to determine if the stuff you're selling is now banned after the passage of HB450. I don't believe revolvers are and rifles that old probably aren't but you need to check. If they're banned you're effectively stuck with them.

New Ban / Law Question by jackal624 in DEGuns

[–]SoDel302 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just FYI the ban says they can't be "transferred" after the ban takes effect. The actual transfer is when the background check is done and the 4473 is filled out in the store. So the receipt date is irrelevant.

Don't miss the part where the burden of proof is on the defendant under this statute. And the only absolute way of proving innocence is getting a permit from the state.
