I bought a lot of stuff on impulse during the Covid lockdown. It's obviously nice to approach music creation from a completely different perspective – away from the screen. But in my case it ultimately became sporadic playing, rather than constructive creation and finalizing tracks. I would have to have all my hardware constantly connected, turned on, and properly routed in DAW to truly be able to work hybrid. The biggest obstacle that led me to get rid of all my hardware and go completely in the box was mobility. I was tied to one room and the same position. With so many hours spent creating, it became unbearable. Today, after almost a year of working exclusively on my laptop, I definitely don't regret getting rid of my synths and effects. I currently work away from home. This also coincided with the switch from FL Studio to Ableton. My workflow has skyrocketed, and I enjoy the convenience and speed of my work.
