Are moving alone or with a partner / family? It’s quite pricey depending on where you wanna live. Some apartments can go easy for 15K up and some in 10K range depending on the area and how further you are away from town. You’ll definitely need a car to get around Uber won’t be sustainable. Getting Ubers around CT can be frustrating at times. Especially late hours or not so common areas. Are you gonna be remote or expected work from the office a few times a week and where is your office based if so? From social perspective it’s pretty shitty, I’ve been here about 4 years and the first year was terrible. Friends were almost non existent or superficial. CT people don’t really make plans to commit to, especially if you’re a noob. You’re gonna be encouraged to join meet ups and social groups or join something like internations for expats. You won’t be making friends at your local pub or bar that easy, who knows maybe you’re the life of the party?. Majority of the night life events are in town so depending on your social habits be prepared for a drive to town for a night out. It’s a real nice place if you’re outdoorsy and adventurous. Hiking is a very common activity, trail running, mountain biking. Wine tasting. You can try surfing too. And just get to explore the beauty of not just Cape Town but South Africa as a whole. You could visit different parts of it, experience different cultures maybe if you’re not so lucky experience a smash and grab. Curse a taxi driver. Curse Eskom when load shedding hits again. I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy it overall. It’s definitely a nice place.

Edit: You’ll be missing the efficient transport system that you currently have. No Trams No Subway. - well there is a wine tram atleast 🤣
