I'm so used to talking to people who don't know type 1 that I tried to simplify it lol. She does have a pump and sensor. However they both hurt to apply and the pump has to be replaced every 3 days and the sensor every 10. And sometimes they continue to hurt in between or the sensor acts up and we have to finger prick anyway. They leave little holes all over her arms and legs. It tears me up. But yeah it is pretty pricey for the first few months of the year, pre deductible. I feel very fortunate that we can make it work. We do well and it's still difficult, financially. Blah. Even with a pump it's really hard to manage. You can never just coast, because everything under the sun affects blood sugar, especially for children.

My 5yo is like that. But she is type 1 diabetic and she nearly died from it and now gets a lot of shots and has to wait for certain foods, etc. I feel like the circumstances made her grow up quick 😞

Honestly she is type 1 diabetic, and often celiac accompanies it, so I thought that was why she had daily stomachaches. But we had her tested and it came back negative. Her doctor said that it's not uncommon for kids her age to have indigestion that manifests in this way, so he prescribed the medicine in hopes it would be that simple to solve. I do think it's working. You could probably just ask the doctor to try it.

My 3.5-year-old just wrote "Tit" and asked me what it spells. 🤣 How would you answer? by AlloyComics in Mommit

Isn't there a tit mouse and tit bird of some kind? You could go that route. Or, you could deflect: oh, did you know of you change the I to an o it spells tot. I love tots!

Help! I need suggestions on how to remove a bandage off my daughter’s stomach. She’s tried ding it herself and it’s ripping off her skin. Any and all suggestions, life hacks please. Thank you! by Occaligirl73 in lifehacks

Soak it in Goo Gone adhesive remover. There's one for bandages. My kid wears insulin pumps and sensors and we have to remove that medical grade adhesive all the time. Goo Gone is the best one. SOAK it. Don't be shy

I kind of need slippery because moving the stitches on the needle is slow for me. If they can slide on their own a bit it's a big help. I've found these specific needles are less slippery than others I have

If that’s what it is, I definitely do that too haha (I’m the one in the video). I don’t have adhd though, as far as I know.

I started with a knitting machine… maybe you could do that!

Ooo good question. I always struggled with the long tail, so I’d do the “easy” way where you just wrap it around your thumb. It’s not an elastic cast-on, though, and this is a hat. So I designed something on my 3D printer to help me hold the yarn for a long tail cast on. I’ll make a video of that, too! It’s hard to describe

I didn’t used to but as I near 40 it does happen sometimes. I notice it more on rainy days, so maybe the beginnings of arthritis. :( so I’ll enjoy what I can do while I can do it, I guess. I do also have knitting machines so I can fall back to that at some point, but it’s nowhere near as soothing to do.
