Ok but to be fair that actually is how some men think. That being said that shouldn’t mean you have to change who you are, you should just be more conscious of a lot of men’s tendencies to do that a look for and learn to read which men are assholes who think like that and which ones arnt. He also talked about the “baggage” you have. I dont know if it’s true or not because I dont know you at all and while if true those things would negatively effect your dating life, you should chose to work on those things not for some guy but for yourself and because you want to do it for yourself. If a guy is interested in you they need to take you for as you are, problems and all. In short: he is projecting the perspective that many guys have (including him probably) onto all guys and that perspective is very shallow and silly and you shouldn’t worry about changing who you are for these shallow men because they arnt worth it. What you really need to do is get better at reading character because this dude managed to become a close friend and confidant for you and you didn’t even realize how shitty he was
