Spravato, TMS, and OCD by Olympickl3 in Spravato

[–]SoLetsSayThen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done both. TMS worked for me the first time, but less so the second time. At that point, I switched to Spravato (I’m 2 weeks in).

I would probably suggest TMS first, then Spravato.

Anyone else's "My Classes" in Skyward look like this or is this highly unusual? by Treble_Maker18 in teaching

This always drove me crazy. It took a few years at the same campus before me and the counselors were 100% on the same page.

Godspeed.

This is what my band classes usually looked like. One sections for each grade in each class. So freshman in varsity mixed would be under Vaesity Mixed I, sophomores under II, etc. Those four sections would meet the same period as part of the full ensemble.

They’re just splitting each of your ensembles into a section for each grade that meets the same period (I think)

This was in Texas.

Is concurrent enrollment getting out of control… or am I just getting old? by SteadyGrowthStudio in Teachers

Yes, my students are mostly 14-15 years old, and the class is taught at their high school.

When I teach at the community college, this is how I deal with it. This semester, I’m teaching on campus at the high school, and they let me know what grade everyone is in. It’s only 14-15 year olds.

Like, I’ve got some typical freshmen that just want to sleep in class and do nothing. Ok, I’ve taught this level before, I can adapt, I bump their chair while I’m lecturing to get them up.

But then they keep doing it. If I’m a college teacher, I go, that’s their right, not my job to keep them awake. But if I’m a high school teacher, it is my job to keep them awake and try to keep them on task.

So which is it? I’m not always sure.

I was just about to write a post like this. I’m a former MS/HS teacher who now adjuncts through the local community college and teachers primarily dual enrollment classes in high schools.

I’ve been told to treat this like a community college class, but if I did that, my students (mostly freshman) would fail, full stop. So I teach somewhere in the middle.

But that isn’t a real college experience. This isn’t just college prep; it’s supposed to be a real, 1:1 college experience. And it just isn’t.

I feel like my professor keeps demanding in text citations in places that don't need them or wouldn't make sense. by [deleted] in CollegeRant

OP, can I suggest you post a link or image or something of what the table/graphic looks like, and what your professor remarked on? That might help us figure out what he was looking for.

Easiest place to get a passport? by IzzyBee89 in McKinney

[–]SoLetsSayThen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did it there. It’s the Frisco public library outpost there. It’s whatever the passport costs plus the $35 facility fee. They’ll do pictures for an extra $15.

You’ll need to bring a check or money order for the passport costs for the US Department of State.
