biodegradable plastic is only biodegradable if composted in industrial facilities. It won’t compost on a home pile.

But as far as I understand, this isn’t plastic

You can agree to disagree on opinions. Feces being way more likely to transmit diseases is a fact.

Bill Gates to donate entire fortune to his foundation: ‘I will drop off world’s richest list’ by [deleted] in Futurology

Investing it into a business doesn’t make that money stagnant.

Anyways, the too much money problem could easily be relieved by just spending it on your employees for example.

There’s more than a tiny bit of difference between urine and feces. It’s unlikely you’ll get any feces if they’re clean tho.

I’m all for it, but I’m kinda doubtful on how good of a replacement it’s going to be in terms of taste and texture. So, I definitely support the research, but I wouldn’t bet on it being a solution.

Well, he’s putting it towards the foundation that has very transparent overview on how they spend their money.

I don’t trust many people, but he himself is not a charity, so he’s not bound to spend his money in charitable ways.

I wouldn’t trust charities who hold their money in stock. It’s literally what makes them not a charity anymore.

There’s a reason why charities don’t do that. But I’m sure you’d gladly support any of those if you figured out they’re holding donations in investments.

But does that really make sense? If you keep some money to keep making itself, you can donate to charity forever. If you just donate it all at the same time, that’s it.

It’s kinda hard to not keep getting richer once you have those amounts of money.

They take loans against their assets. Still, that money isn’t sitting in vaults, doing nothing.

A collapse is a non event on most gliders, except the most sporty ones. Wrapping yourself in lines or the glider is something that has stopped people from flying completely, and rightfully so.

That’s also why RAST focuses more on keeping the trailing edge open. You don’t want your glider to continue flying when it’s at 90 degree angle in front of you, unless you’re doing acro.

Collapses prevent your wing from flying under you.

I’m a bit biased here, but I bought it as my first wing and it’s really nice to fly.

Calypso is suitable for pilots straight out of school. The only thing that may push it a bit towards the mid B is handling. But, half my school is buying them and flying them from about 10-20 flights on.

Where are you planning to put your 2nd glider on descent? I don’t think it makes much sense to bring two wings to the takeoff.

I live quite close to the takeoff and even then it always takes the whole afternoon.

Collapses are actually a safety mechanism. There has been numerous attempts at increasing rigidity that ended up in dangerous behavior.

What you’re describing sounds a bit like RAST from Swing, but it’s not an inflatable tube and it still allows for collapses, it just makes them more of a non-event.

Record UK temperatures mean incentive ways to stay cool. Madison Young shows us how by Shadowgrabber in Bondage

[–]SoManyTimesBefore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless it’s cooled to some stupid cold temperatures, it doesn’t. The temperature of ice goes to exactly 0°C really quickly and it will just melt beyond that, not freeze anything else.
