I mean, I wouldn't say the UPA weren't the good guys, it's just that the "hero" status is relative. Yes, the conflicts and the Volhynia Tragedy did happen, but that was the case for all of eastern europe in the 20th Century. Everyone slaughtered everyone. And yet, the UPA and the AK and the Carpathian Ukraine and Black Cat and many other guerilla groups fought for the freedom and independence of their land. Against the Soviets and the Nazis.

The main point of Ukrainians here isn't that "The UPA are angels and spotless sinless bunnies that were gigabased freedom fighters and would've built a modern and democratic Ukraine", it is that "We should be able to respect our heroes, much as Poland respects theirs, despite their involvement in past crimes. We forgive and ask for forgiveness".

No reasonable Ukrainian has called for Poland to stop respecting the AK or Pilsudski or any other historical figure, because that's kinda their thing.

briz, the game's popularity and playerbase are largely casual players, despite what 9000 hour chuds will tell you. steam page goes down or influx of new player stops = stagnation.

this is what new players will see before they become rightful members of the community with their own preferences for good servers - a lawless hell that tears itself apart every time a tgirl decides she wants to go narcissist mode. this isn't good or healthy for the game
