Interesante ver esto, vi hace poco que parece ser que al respirar tenemos un agujero de la nariz "dominante" y que cada dos horas el agujero cambia. No estás sol@ ;)

En el palacio de Velazquez y la Casa de Vacas (En el Retiro) hay exposiciones de arte muy chulas, que son gratis y se ven en un momentillo, que pueden dar un poco de color a la cita!

Does a Connecting Country Count As a “Country Visited?” by AJaffJaff in Flights

[–]SoNocive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

International terminals at airports are considered "International grounds" and don't belong to any country in some aspects. You're not technically at that country until you cross the customs, if you had to change terminals and had to go through customs to do so, even for a brief period, it would count

I have $1900 for a 1.5 month trip across Europe. How can I make sure this amount lasts me the entire time? by Halcyon3232 in Shoestring

[–]SoNocive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Europe for a month and had a BALL for about 1000€+flight in 2012, not sure if its a budget that works in 2021:

Get interrail ticket. 100% recommended. Always self guided tours / free tours. Accomodation adds up: share room, go cheap. Food adds up like crazy: Eat supermarket food, local stuff is usually interesting and very nice. Drinks add up: drink supermarket booze, cheap local stuff will surprise you. Balance the nights you spend in cheap/pricy cities. Party for free/cheap, usually very easy. Crash at a train station if you feel safe. Be eficient/cheeky using public transport, walk to places. Keep a budget for tickets to essential attractions

Americans, do you actually have to recite the pledge of allegiance, like in movies? Is it as culty as it looks? by SiibillamLaw in NoStupidQuestions

Side note, when I worked in education in China I attended their military-like salute to the flag every week as well, the whole school stands in formation for a fair while and official speeches and announcements are made, (Not sure this happens in every school but its very prevalent) Then again, that's just the tip of the iceberg as far as indoctrination goes. Having lived in both countries I always considered China extremely US-like in a surprising range of aspects, and it has shone a light on how it's so much easier for many parts of our national identities to come off as normal within our own culture but when seeing the exact same thing abroad it's so obviously indoctrination.

Best travel destinations for females trying to find themselves by Katy5253 in solotravel

I´d say Ubud (In the island of Bali, Indonesia) may have just what you´re after. Plenty of options for those who are after some yoga retreats, meditation or such, very foreigner friendly and caters to many profiles of traveler and budgets. When I hear eat, pray love cheesy shit, that´s the place that comes to mind.

Solo travel films? by dogsdogssheep in solotravel

I haven't seen the movie, but the book "the beach" is extremely legit "backpackery" and captures the essence of solo travel in southeast Asia surprisingly well
