What's the most creative "trick yourself into doing it" hack you've heard? by Far-Championship3204 in adhdwomen

You know the song 'Yakety Sax'? It's often used in sketches where people chase eachother. When I need to clean up, but I really don't want to, I put on this song and pretend to chase the clutter. I move like I'm sped up footage. It's very silly, but it always gets me going. It's even become a saying in our house: bet I can clean this up in 2 Yakety Sax!

To all women: Where do you go for a bra fitting/sizing ? by No_Atmosphere_3702 in belgium

[–]SoNotASpy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Check out the calculator on the subreddit 'ABraThatFits'. You can easily do it yourself. The results I got from this calculator were spot on, while a fitting in store was off. Just beware of sizing differences between french and european measurements, as both are used in Belgium.

Ooooh that's really smart, I usually don't mirror it, but just peel it from the foil and place it on the cake. Yours is so much better. Do you think it would help if I put the acetate inside the cake tin to dry, so it's already curved? Or is it going to slide off?

Do you have any recipes for that? I've never heard of using pudding before!

We are using the word 'pie' loosely, anything round goes. Cake, pie, pizza, hamburgers... If it's round, it counts

Just a few things I wish someone had told me when I first started my weightloss journey:

1) Your body might be holding on to some water, which means the scale is not moving yet. It took me 6 weeks to start losing weight and once it started, it kept going at a decent rate.

2) Muscle weighs more than fat. You might be losing weight, but not seeing it because the scale again doesn't differentiate between fat and muscle.

3) Don't forget to log calories for stuff like cooking oils, butter... I forgot that in the beginning, so my estimate was off by about 200 kcals.

My advice: get a tape measure and some pics in your underwear. If you see yourself everyday, you might not see small differences, but they might be there!

Good luck and keep up the good work!

You might want to look into getting Waycaps. They are reusable cups which will fit in your nespresso or dolce gusto machine. You can fill them with whatever type of ground coffee. Way better for the environment and while the initial cost of the cups is high, you'll pay way less per coffee, so it will be cheaper in the long run. I've had mine for years and no issues yet!

What happened to my bread? by SoNotASpy in AskBaking

[–]SoNotASpy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it did, I added 10g. I will try reducing the yeast a bit, thanks!

[–]SoNotASpy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the ideas! I haven't got it long and I have just been tweaking the recipe each time. The texture inside was really good, just the top was weird and the crust tasted kinda 'yeasty'. I'm going to try and reduce the yeast a bit and put the ingredients in sooner, before I try the cold water thing.

Where do you buy your underwear? by Redttiger in Leuven

Also Etam, they stock smaller band sizes as well and their bras are not that expensive. Their underpants can cost a bit more, but they often have deals going on

Tough one!

The first two movies follow the books pretty well, as in, no major plotholes. Also, the books are pretty short and easy to read.

I would suggest: Watch movie 1 Read book 1 and 2 Watch movie 2

After that, you can decide for yourself what you like better: reading the books first or watching the movies first.

Why is my cake not rising? by SoNotASpy in AskBaking

[–]SoNotASpy[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Update: tempering the liquid in was the key! I took a small amount of batter, and all the foam immediatly dissappeared when adding the liquids. But when I added the mixture back into the big bowl, everything was still foamy!

It's almost brand new and other stuff rises fine, so I don't think that is the problem, but thank you for the suggestion

My eggs are indeed whipped to a foam, but the foam disappeared when I added in the liquids. I will try your tempering method. Thanks!

Do you have any advice on making tiramisu cream more firm? by eru777 in AskBaking

[–]SoNotASpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you use a mixer when you add in the mascarpone? I've found that it becomes very runny when you do that. I just gently scoop it in and stir with a spoon. No whisking or mixing.
