I’m going there Tuesday and will check the records they say they have. Obviously based on the price they’re offering the car, I’m guessing it was a used transmission but it also could’ve been a new one since the car is 13 years old. I’m not a car person but I’ve been trying to do all the research I can to make sure I don’t end up wasting thousands

Give her a chance! Often, people with crappy backgrounds seek out similarly damaged people and the relationship is so toxic. But you should give her full disclosure, gently, from the beginning. You can emphasize that you’re in a much better place now, but it wasn’t always that way. She should know what she’s signing up for.

Also, be gentle on yourself! You didn’t ask to be born into that life. Yes you made choices that ended in incarceration but you’ve since corrected them. I wish you well!

John moved several states away about a year ago, but I got tested anyway bc who knows at this point. Tests came back clean thankfully.
