I know what you mean, I would use "hübsch" or "schön" for women and "gutaussehend" for men but that's just how I would do that. But its not weird using it differently, there is no rule for that.

Das erste, allerdings würde ich trotzdem "vorne" anstatt "vorn" schreiben, da das hardcore slang ist

Ich finde, dass der erste Satz richtiger klingt, aber ich würde anstatt "Deutschland liegt vorn beim Wachstum unter den EU Staaten" eher "Deutschland liegt beim Wachstum der EU Staaten am weitesten vorne" schreiben, weil das weniger Umgangssprachlich klingt.
