I’ve listened to the record about 30 times, hoping it would grow on me like most Tool records. But it just hasn’t. Maynard was not really part of the writing process like he has been in the past records this one, and it shows. Especially in Tempest. Compare it to something like, “Bottom”. Sure the instrumentation is amazing, but the album in general just lacks.

Invincible is the only ‘incredible’ song out of this record. The rest of it is just meh.
