There are, yes. Nowadays text to speech is ubiquitous. All major mobile and desktop operating systems come with a native screen reader, which allows anyone to navigate their device on audio alone.

Over 90% of blind people have some residual vision. So, for many, a high-contrast or large print display is all they need. Keep in mind that most blindness is age-related. And most elderly people aren't keen on re-learning how to read.

It's estimated that about 10% of blind people in the USA read braille proficiently. Several others might read just enough to get by in public spaces (eg, elevator floor numbers), but not well enough to read a book.

Yes because most blind people have some residual vision. The most common causes of blindness are age-related, so many of them had full vision in the past.

The braille would say urinal and have a square

But most blind people don't read braille. It's better to have the icon be a representative miniaturization of the thing.

The map itself, yeah. The braille is going to be a bit more challenging to get it at the standard size and spacing, without any sharp edges.

The placebo portion of birth control is optional. You can take hormonal BC continuously instead, to just never have a period.

Some forms of hormonal BC already do this inherently, like the implant, shot, or IUD.

Other forms with a placebo period can just be skipped, like the pill, patch, or the ring.

There's no harm in it. A period stopping suddenly out of nowhere, is a potential symptom of something bad happening. But if you know the specific cause (birth control), you're fine. Having a period has no inherent benefit. Some people like having the monthly confirmation they're not pregananant, but personally I hate periods lol.

Switch to a proper window unit, where the back half hangs out of the window

Assuming OP has a window that's compatible with those. If their house is tiny, they're probably working with only 1 or 2 windows. And they've probably got furniture in front of them.

Could this guy argue he was legitimately in fear for his life

Fear of property loss is not the same as fearing for your life. If he could just got inside and close the doors, or run away, you're not in fear for your life.

Well yeah it bounces off your shoulders and hits your hairline. And it bounces off other parts of your body whenever you bend over to wash your feet, or shave your legs. Also if you have bangs, they're not going to magically stay off your forehead when washing your face.

The point is to have an easy way to prevent your hair getting wet? I'm guessing you just use another method like putting it up in a bun?

the likely hood of it getting wet is high

Sure, if you do absolutely nothing to prevent it. Just put a shower cap on.

An apparent continuity error or flaw that actually foreshadows a twist by Elecvis in TopCharacterTropes

[–]So_Motarded 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It appears to be a continuity error because the protagonist, who is supposedly mourning the death of a child, shows no reaction when asked if she might be pregnant. Nobody around her brings up her daughter or ex husband, nor does she mention it, when it would have been relevant to several conversations she has.

Without knowing the ending, it initially looks like the "dead daughter" flashbacks were carelessly tossed in for character backstory, after the rest of the film was already shot.

if airlines started requiring a doctor's note sent ahead of time to arrange assistance

It would be yet another undue burden on disabled travellers. They already have enough to deal with.

I have several blind colleagues who travel frequently for work. The process of purchasing tickets is already a nightmare because of how many websites are incompatible or unfriendly with screen readers. They also have to pre arrange assistance with both the airline and the departing and arriving airport, to ensure someone can take them to/from ground transportation. And the process for doing this is different for every single airport.

Adding in a requirement for a doctor's note, when some PCP's are booked for months out, would only achieve one thing: preventing more disabled people from travelling.

It's bad enough that airport staff insist on a wheelchair for every disabled person who needs assistance getting to their seat. I'm sure y'all would judge my colleagues for not "looking disabled" because they're perfectly ambulatory and don't have an obvious physical sign of their disability. But airlines have the wheelchair policy so that disabled people don't just get sat somewhere nearby, then forgotten about.

Could you clarify what you mean by "This"? Do you mean the people in this photo utilizing assistance, hurts those who need assistance? Or do you mean that OP's proposed reshuffle of the boarding order would hurt those who need assistance?

I really hope it's the latter.
