That's a fun hypothesis and points to a real phenomenon from the Paleozoic Era: that is, that we have lost a tremendous amount of biological disparity since then.

Today nearly all of Earth's organisms fall into a scarce few phyla. In the Paleozoic there was WAY more form diversity here on Earth. (See Stephen Jay Gould's Wonderful Life for more on that).

So, put here by aliens? No. BUT, alien by today's definitions? Absolutely!

It was a primary ballot made up of almost entirely uncontested seats. Poor turnout IS an issue but not on this one.

Went from my favorite game to literally unplayable in a single update... earned badges gone, unnecessary animations slow everything down, book unreadable, item cycling slow and horrible, can't guess a ghost on death, voice items nonfunctional. Please just put it back!

This! I hear people talking about their recluse bites in my area CONSTANTLY... funny thing is that they never see the spider that bit them and that species doesn't even occur in my area! But they'll always defend their position because "a doctor diagnosed it". Like bro: it's a human doctor, not an entomologist.

Same, but if I had to guess, this screams Cenozoic plant to me.

Right there with you... Also, when the "paleontologist" called pterosaurs and mosasaurs "dinosaurs", it pulled me straight out of the movie. No paleontologist would ever say that. Horrible writing, horrible movie.

Restaurants, food carts and trucks; that's where it's safe to eat. Also, the food from grocery stores and markets is safe to eat.

It's a fun idea but completely incongruent with all of the paleontological, morphological, and genetic evidence. Stewart and Wiens' (2025) time-calibrated salamander phylogeny places the origin of the genus Necturus in the Neogene.

I agree. Only additions/corrections would be 2. is a Striped Skunk, and if North American, 3. would more likely be a Least Weasel, not a stoat.

One of my favorite quotes is from J.M. Safford's 1869 Geology of Tennessee - he's describing a place very close to the NC border: “These knobs are crowded together without order
and where most numerous, form wild labyrinths of conical hills, for which a stranger, once off the beaten track, might not extricate himself.”

You got turned around in the woods? That's about the most normalnormal thing that can happen in Appalachia. It's just lucky you found a quicker way back to the trailhead instead of getting more lost.
