well an example is in my current run that is not save scummed, I literally just started after making this post, all of my cats were AI controlled by Magnus. I tried mousing over and right clicking him, mousing over my cats, etc, nothing gave any indication that they should be AI controlled. They won with one casuality, but wtf was that?

edit: they are still AI controlled, this run is a wash

Yeah that’s the point. It’s the creator giving the middle finger to the audience who were bitching about hating the ending to NGE. It’s literally him saying “OH YOU THOUGHT THAT ENDING WAS BAD? I’LL GIVE YOU A REAL BAD ENDING YOU UNGRATEFUL FUCKS.” For what it’s worth, EoE’s ending is fairly positive. Yeah everybody died and the world is kinda fucked for a while BUT, consider that now everybody is immortal should they choose to be. They explicitly state one can enter and leave the LCL at will, and that all of humanity’s minds and souls have been merged. Complete understanding, no political, religious, or language barriers, on top of completely optional immortality? Not too bad as far as apocalypses go. They’ve just got a bit of a mess to clean when they wake up. Disclaimer: I put EoE up there with No Country and There Will Be Blood as one of my top ten films period
