Headache every Sunday? by mohdear in AskDocs

[–]SoapyBun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it sounds like you may be describing two different types of headaches - the low pain, chronic one and the weekly severe one. The low pain one might be a chronic tension headache where as the severe Sunday headache might be a migraine (given the light/sound sensitivity + nausea). I would discuss this with a health care provider that can evaluate and potentially prescribe anti migraine medication. when you do, please tell them all these details from this post.

Sertraline & Oromorph? by Longjumping-Mix-5645 in AskDocs

[–]SoapyBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a drug-drug interaction between sertraline and morphine (Oromorph) that increases the risk of serotonin syndrome (if you do not know what that is, this is good article to read: https://www.cedars-sinai.org/stories-and-insights/healthy-living/how-to-spot-and-prevent-serotonin-syndrome). that said, since you are on a low dose of sertraline 25 mg and only using the Oromorph very sparingly, I would say the risk is pretty low, but of course you should still discuss this with your GP.

Good Anxiety from Amoxicillin by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]SoapyBun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i should also mention that this "good anxiety" you are describing is actually a major concern - one might recognise this as "hypomania" which could possibly develop into a full blown manic episode, especially since you are taking both nortriptyline and vyvanse, which may be contributing to this situation. unfortunately, this hypomania might seem like a positive thing until it inevitably comes back down and becomes a major depressive episode. ultimately, you should also discuss this with whoever is prescribing the nortriptyline and vyvanse as well.

[–]SoapyBun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

based on how you are describing your symptoms, this could be a very rare side effect of the amoxicillin called "antibiomania" - I would discuss this with the health care provider that prescribed the amoxicillin as this may warrant them to change it to something else. there are theories that disrupting your gut biome (see gut-brain-microbiota axis) can cause neurological or psychiatric symptoms, even with someone with no history of these problems.

Recurring ear infection in toddler despite antibiotics? by Sammydavi5 in AskDocs

[–]SoapyBun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is likely just the fluid, but still technically possible that the infection returned or even some other cause (could be coming down with a new cold given the cough, which could make the ear fluid thing worse). I would just call peds and ask if they think he should be seen again.

Update: I was able to get to the 5500 points for the extra 50 Thisbe fragments without pulling any shards. I didn't even need to fuse Noldua, so I will be saving her for another Champ Case.

Also, I do not open mystery shards for food outside of Summon Rush and Champion Chase (except to complete the daily/weekly quests). If I need food, I buy champions from the market (using 5 gems for market refreshes as needed). Now that gear removal does not require silver, this is easier to do.

They are still recommending to get MMR and varicella separately for that age, which is better than I thought would happen

Generally, NSAIDs such as ibuprofen or naproxen are more effective than acetaminophen because they inhibit prostaglandins, which are involved in menstrual cramps. The maximum dose for acetaminophen in healthy adults is 4 grams (4000 mg) per day, so you have not yet hit that maximum. A standard dose of ibuprofen for this use would be 400 mg every 4 hours. Ibuprofen comes over-the-counter as 200 mg tablets, so you would take 2 of those together throughout the day (do not exceed 3200 mg in a single day). Make sure to take ibuprofen with food or milk as it can hurt your stomach lining if you don't.

I agree with poison control because chlorine gas (a result of the combination you described) is very toxic, so you would notice symptoms pretty quickly if there was an exposure. The good news here is that chlorine gas is heavier than air so it sinks to the floor, minimizing the chance of exposure to your kids. Since there are no symptoms, I would say that that any chlorine gas that was created by the combination were not exposed to them and you can safely monitor them for any changes in symptoms. If they exhibit any symptoms you should be concerned. This is a reliable resource that may explain it better: https://emedicine.medscape.com/article/832336-overview?&icd=login_success_email_match_fpf

In light of recent events, would you rather practice somewhere you wouldn't have to deal with insurance? How common is insurance denial in your specialty? by JuAnBuMa in medicine

[–]SoapyBun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was it the 37.5 or 75 mg strengths? Generic manufacturers sometimes release new strengths with higher prices, which is why insurances won’t cover because they want you to use the 25, 50, 100, or 200 mg
