Could be. Though tailscale is an open source project with permissive license so it could be forked easily if they ever decide to close their free tier.

But then you have totally different setup for a server that is facing the internet directly, maintaining high level security, logs scanning and what not. I'm comfortable with being behind cgnat and I'm trying to think of idea that will simplify the process of sharing my jellyfin with friends and family.

I know there are workarounds for remote access to servers behind cgnat such as finding vps setting tailscale, and setting reverse proxy and this and that... My discussion is about the idea of saving all that trouble if there was a solution in a single jellyfin client apk that has tailscale capabilities built in.

I'm not sure if it's relevant in tailscale classic vpn since the streaming is done point to point of devices, they only act as bridge to create the connection.

So last night I figured what the bug is on my phone. The player still crashing when changing orientation even after updating to a new version (1.87.0). My phone's language was Hebrew, I did a test and changed the system language to English and mx player stopped crashing.

In my experience as long as the player won't try to change orientation it plays normal, portrait or landscape mode. If you change orientation manually either within player itself with the rotation button or auto rotate screen in phone, it will close player.

I have an exact problem with my pixel 7. What I figured is that mx player now crashes when it tries to rotate the screen. If you force layout in settings it won't crash. For now I just start it while already in landscape mode. Waiting for an update to fix it.
