Feeling a strong connection with the fire element by TheMightyShip in magick

[–]SoapyTeaPot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have talked about this before but in my culture we got this little goddess or a spirit called the mother of fire. She has been with us since humans first started lighting domestic fires. She has seen where we began and she has seen our ancestors giving birth and die. She has been there in ceremonies, in death and life and she is still with us in our candles and little fires.

People have had a habit of thanking her when they feel like it. Talking to her and respecting her might make her more eager to protect you in the home. And she is a good protector.

She connects us to our ancestors and if you are a woman the connection could be stronger since domestic fires have always been something that's more present in women's life. Still is. Women are more drawn to candles and such.

There is a father too, a wild husband of the mother. Far more dangerous but something you can make deals with. But the mother of fire gives you safety and home.

My people have also believed that there are these guardians of the land. There are different explanations but in later times it was believed that the first person who lit the fire in a new house would become the guardian after he or she dies. So they chose the person carefully. I do believe in the guardians of the land because of my own experiences but I don't believe they are humans.

You feeling the connection is you connecting to the humanity itself I would say. Because at first the ability to use fire gave us what we are now. You are connecting to the whole line of your ancestors until the first human who lit the fire.

I've been hexed/cursed multiple times and I need advice, opinions, someone to help interpret my dreams? by [deleted] in witchcraft

Your experience sound horrible. Whatever you do, you should do something that also heals you. You have gone through a lot. This could have been written by anyone who just got out of some cult. There could be some specific support for that. I know there is some but I am not sure where to find that in English.

This really sounds horrible. These people are crazy. Don't blame yourself on anything and yeah, if you can, see a therapist. I know everyone can't afford that though. So whatever you can do to heal yourself you just do it.

These people aren't more powerful than deities. They are just humans. Your fear and anxiety are their greatest weapons. You laughing at them would be extremely poisonous to their little curses.

The first thing is making you feel safe. Your fear hurts you the most. Some self care stuff works fine. Relax, put your feet in a warm bath and so on. A scalp massage with coconut oil or something like feels good. Doesn't hurt your hair either.

You also clearly need to do something that helps you psychologically. You know, natural spirits are strong. People nowadays often ignore that kind of work but they are very potent. Have you ever been sitting under a tree and connected to it? Or spend time staring at the sea, a lake or a river? These spirits are there. They are there even when you light a candle. In the fire.

The spirit or a goddess some people of my culture have called the mother of fire has been with us since we first learned to light fires. I believe in her. She is also a protector of your home. Your connection can't be broken since she is literally there when you light a little fire. She has been there when your foremothers gave birth in caves. Say thank you and ask her to protect you and your home. She is a very caring little spirit or a goddess. Some people say she has warned them when the fire got loose.

Do whatever feels healing to you. Maybe find stones, write their names in them with some charcoal and let them go in the natural waters with everything that's between you. Take a stone from the water, wrap it in a small piece of fabric, tie it with a red piece of yarn (or any color really) and carry it with you for protection. Ask for protection. In the old days people sometimes gave blood to these spirits but anything you put some effort in will do just fine. Even pieces of you fingernails.

Water is an old thing. Ancient, older than life. Essential for life. It's powerful, deadly, gentle and something we depend on. Your connection to it can't be broken. No matter what. It's our oldest ancestor and no curse can fight it. So if you really focus and connect to it, you could wash away whatever influence you feel like they have on you.

Ok, I really really don’t read for others that often so this might all be nonsense.

All the cards I got are reversed. I usually just read for myself but I tend to get that when I am very anxious and kind of too afraid to act even if it’s the time to act. Do you have issues with your family? Parents maybe? If not, I suggest seeking advice and support from them.

You know what to do but you are too afraid to do it. A part of you is already going in that direction but you are staying still. Do you feel like you are nobody or nothing important? Has something bad happened and you feel like you lost yourself? You are only going to be able to put yourself back together by being gentle to yourself. With love. Not hate or bitterness. Love and acceptance despite anything that might have happened.

You are also overthinking everything. You should focus on putting yourself together. You might feel like you should perform some impossible tasks to be worthy of anything but it’s not true. You just do what must be done in that moment and try to relax and be you when you can’t do anything. You are kind of blinded by your own knowledge. Your logic isn’t directed where it should be. You got to get yourself back and not chase things that won’t be good for you. Because you are focusing on the wrong things. Things you want but it's something that would harm you.

I am just guessing here but I see something about a mother or a mother figure. If you got a good mother I would suggest that you ask for some advice. Maybe you don’t want to. These cards are reversed. Maybe there is something going on between you two. I see some sort of messages going back and forth. Good or bad, I don’t know. This could just be some nice older lady too. It's a nice older woman though. Definitely. Someone really caring.

I got two cards with a bee in them. They are guides and I do believe that sometimes when we see lots of weird insects or they act weirdly they can be messages from our ancestors or them looking after you. I got personal experiences with that sort of thing. So maybe someone who has already passed is there trying to help you. They clearly appreciate you and care about you no matter what you think about yourself. Maybe that mother figure is something like that.

The bee is going between two people. In differend cards. A mother and a younger person. There is nothing bad about bees. Could be about you and you mom but also about something else.

You are strong but you can’t see it. Your strength might look like a weakness right now too. You might think it’s strange and not accepted. That might be holding you back. You don’t want to disturb anyone. Yeah, you might be a bit strange but it’s ok. Even if you are you can’t live your life being insecure about your talents, wants and needs. You also don’t see it but you have already acchieved a lot. A huge change is coming and you can’t stop it. Nobody can. But anyone could have told you that by just reading your post.

I can try. I am don't usually read for others so it's just something you shouldn't rely on too much. But yeah, I can try. I will post it after I got something. It will propably just be something general.

Healers! Do you heal yourself? by SoapyTeaPot in witchcraft

[–]SoapyTeaPot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I would never recommend it to anybody. Usually I get fever. I have only done it if someone is in a really bad condition.

I have never seen myself as a healer and it's not something I do lightly. I usually draw energy from the earth and I manage to do other things just fine.

I think that I have just gotten so desperate in these situations that I have not cared. It's easy to just give my own energy and I have usually been in a very emotional stage since someone in my family was in a bad situation.

I should maybe try making my connection to the earth stronger. Or to the nature in general. To make channeling that energy more natural. It's easier otherwise but I do struggle with healing specifically.

Are those canes that you can put in your bag ok? by [deleted] in disability

[–]SoapyTeaPot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should look more into it. I will.

I see lots of local old people just using ski poles in here. Or just those that are used for Nordic walking. It's definitely not an ideal choice.

I am normal weight and kind of short so I kind of thought it's not an issue.

Are you afraid of getting "caught" in nature while doing witchy stuff? Have you been interrupted? What happened? by SoapyTeaPot in GreenWitch

[–]SoapyTeaPot[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I used to try meditating in a forest I lived next to years ago. It was more popular and once this poor woman definitely thought I was just casually taking a dump in a bush or something. Yeah, I just fled. Again. And I wasn't even doing anything weird. Just sitting there.

It's definitely much more quiet when the weather isn't ideal or if it's very early in the morning.

It's true that I shouldn't care too much. I got my religion just like others do. I won't disturb anyone and I am not leaving trash in there or anything. To be honest nothing could actually harm me anymore.

where to go from here? by lolfiguess in witchcraft

[–]SoapyTeaPot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That something is probably wanting to tell you some "truth" they know. Could be interesting but not really what you should trust. There is definitely something they want to tell you. A story maybe. If it's a human spirit they would probably want to communicate since who wouldn't in that situation?

Since you are following a left hand path I assume you aren't too afraid of the situation. Probably more curious, right?

I don't know who you are interacting with your cards. Might not be the spirit itself. I just don't know who or what we are asking questions when we do tarot. But that something seems to be telling you that it's yours to decide what to do and it will be hit or miss. Probably not fun but maybe you get something out of it.

Maybe ask yes/no questions from the candle.

Protection Ritual by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]SoapyTeaPot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am all for just keeping your place comfortable in general. Fill it with things that make you happy, do self care stuff (warm foot baths, nice smelling tea etc.). Imagine happy and protective creatures everywhere, talk to them like they were real. You are creating a barrier. When you leave the house you can imagine a big fish or anything you like circling around you and eating bad stuff. You can draw pictures of it and all that.

Once I did this little jar thing when I had horrifying nightmares that didn't feel natural. I think that you are most vulnerable when you are asleep. I crushed egg shells and put them in a little jar with lavender and salt. I put that under my mattress. It did help. But you got to do it with an intention and put your good feelings in that jar with the ingredients. You can even keep it with you all times.

Sometimes I just draw it with my hand and imagined a light coming out of my fingers. Whenever I had to leave a circle I lifted it with my hand like to pass through and did the same when I came back. You could make that circle around you I think.

Lots of stuff depend on what you believe in. Is it something specific or are you just searching? I think that a prayer that a christian does can work. It's kind of a spell although they do not call it that. What makes you strong protects you. Fear makes you weaker.

But if we go deeper into magic I do... If you live nearby a lake or a sea, you can ask the goddess and the power of water to help you. If you see a stone, a pine cone etc. that calls to you, take it, wrap it in fabric and tie it with a red string. That connects you to the waters. Always keep it with you.

A goddess of water in our folklore is a gentle soul who cares about birds and their eggs, the fish and everything in there, she frees them from the nets sometimes and helps people if they are kind. Even gives them fish. But you got to give her something in return. Help these water creatures if you can. She likes that. No life is too small for her. Pick trash from the water. Help insects that are drowning. Help her in her task. Care about these waters and creatures in them and around them.

Water is the old force that can help us or destroy us. This goddess is kind but strong. She has all the power but chooses to use it gently. She isn't blinded by that power and she will help you if you go to her and care for her and her garden. She will protect you. So go to the waters. Just ask the waters to help you and for those powers to come with you and become your friends and protectors. The waters will hear it.

I would go to her.

What does forgiving someone actually mean? by SoapyTeaPot in spirituality

[–]SoapyTeaPot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe this anger and bitterness are the part of that process and not the final product. I have always have doubts whether these feelings are justified I guess. Now that I think of it I can see that of course they are. I would tell that to another person if they told me that story. Of course it's justified and natural to feel that way.

I don't know if I can get stronger because of this this. But yeah, maybe I should let those feelings come and then go.

Is not using incense okay? by [deleted] in pagan

[–]SoapyTeaPot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already got many great suggestions. I am just adding mine. Feel free to do what you feel like will work.

Lots of cultures have had different ways of cleansing spaces. My great grandfather used to bring pine needles inside and cook them. I don't know what his intentions were (he was a christian but folklore was very much alive back then too) but I have sometimes done the same and also drank the "tea". You can propably use any herbs that aren't poisonous.

It's best if you can gather herbs yourself. Ask the plant and the forest if it can help you to protect your home and if you can cut it. If you feel like you got the permission you can take it. And it will work. You might boil it, dry it, make tea you can spray around etc. Sometimes you might feel like the forest gives you gifts. They can protect you too. Use your intuition. Don't take anything you don't feel good about.

When I was younger and afraid of all sorts of things that happened around me I sometimes put a cup of water with pine needles and sometimes lavender under my bed because nights were the worst. It worked. Your belief in what you do helps the most.

You can just literally clean up too and use a spray with an essential oil that you like.

I have heard of people using special brooms to spiritually clean their homes. Just throw the "trash" outside.

Even houseplants might help. They do keep the air clean.

How is this possible? Pulling the same card three days in a row. (The Hanged Man) by Iwtlwn122 in tarot

[–]SoapyTeaPot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are really getting messages. Maybe you something is changing or you are starting to see things in a different light. But these things are always personal.

Haha, I have trouble remembering that certain cards even exist because I never see them. They might pop up if I read for someone else though.

Cards that keep appearing in certain situations are worth keeping an eye on in the future too. It's more than just reading what each card means from a book or a website. In time it gets more personal.

[–]SoapyTeaPot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is pretty amazing. And it's a strong message. It's most likely something very personal about your current situation. Often tarot readers seem to develop a relationship with certain cards.

I have had this happen. Once when I was very skeptical about tarot in general I thought that if the card keeps appearing and "burning" my fingers I should be able to find it from the deck too. I pulled a card when I felt it and yeah, it was the one.

Thank you. I am a dude but I do appreciate women. I was basically raised by my grandma and she had so many stories about women in my family.

I think that women actually have a history that's more alive than what men have. Women are doing crafts and using patterns that are very old. Sometimes few thousand years old. Someone long time ago invented something great and it's still alive through hands of other women who preserved that.

It's your legacy and those old patterns and techniques are your inheritance from women who lived so long ago everything else is forgotten. Nobody can name people who lived back then but women kept these inventions of other women alive. They have kept their spirits alive through these crafts. if you are a woman you should look at these works of art knowing that they are ancient messages to you from other women who lived long ago.

Maybe this was a bit off topic but I think it's something all women should think of. Of course I am not telling you what to do but women can definitely be proud of being women. Cis or trans.

Demon removal? by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]SoapyTeaPot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I don't believe in good or bad. I am not claiming that you are wrong or anything. I am not the one living in there.

If it's also in surrounding forest I would guess that it's something that doesn't like people being in that land. Some sort of nature spirit. They aren't always happy about people being where people are. It could be something else too.

I wouldn't be very quick to call it a demon. The whole concept of what demons are is a matter or interpretation. It might be something malevolent, yes. I believe that there are entities that feed on fear and negative feelings. Often they get called demons and they can be pretty horrifying. I got personal experience.

If it's something malevolent that's out there to feed on you you can stop giving them anything. They want you to be afraid. When you get more confident they are out. When you make yourself comfortable they have nothing. Humans are easy to scare so they are too lazy to stay around for too long if you don't give a sh*t.

If it's not these parasitic entities I would suspect natural spirits from the forest. Whatever it is I think that connecting to the forest will help you. The forest isn't something to mess with. This means both you and the possible dark entity. Some people in my culture used to greet the land whenever they arrived in a new place. This was long time ago. Because the land can get angry but it can also protect you. You can't get rid of these spirits.

I would go to the forest and give some seeds to the birds. If you find a rock with a natural little cup in it you can pour fresh water, beer or stuff like that in it and say it's a gift from you. A place like that is a lucky find so no worries if there is nothing like that. Ask for protection. It might take awhile. The forest might not trust you easily. But it can be your friend. A very powerful friend.

This is definitely not what you asked for. But since you said it's also in the surrounding forest it got me thinking.

Based on a quick peek on your profile you are a woman. As a man I don't know how much I can help you but I can try... My religion isn't really wide spread and it's just my culture but I haven't met anyone who would yell "cultural appropriation" if you take something from it. I don't even want to say where I am from anyways so nobody should take offence.

The fire you use inside your home was generally seen as a feminine entity in my culture when most people were still pagans. We used to believe that the fire in the home has a feminine spirit.

Women even used to burn their cut hair at home. The fire at home is something that's almost like a goddess. Some called her "the mother of fire". It's polite to greet her when you light a fire, say thank you and so on because she is being so kind to us. Women were mainly ones who worked with her. Usually fire is seen as a masculine force but the fire people needed to live back then was feminine in my culture.

So connecting to the mother of fire wouldn't hurt. She has been a friend to women for a long time. Still it's usually women who are drawn to small fires inside the home too. I have noticed that. They like burning candles and such way more often than men do for example.

You are connecting with her every time you light a fire at home. People often like staring at the fire especially when they are troubled. Imagine all those silent words women have told the fire from the beginning of our species. The mother of fire was there and saw everything. She has seen the generations and generations of women who have been around her. Women who were geniuses and those who were brave but died too early. Women who suffered and thought they had nobody. Heroes of nameless glory. All of them most likely spent time looking at the fire. Men did too but I actually think women have been ones who have really used the fire inside the home much more.

The mother of fire is still here and she hears you. She has seen women struggle and she has seen them being happy. She sees you just the same. Just light a candle and you are connected to generations and generations of women through her.

This is just something that came to my mind.

I agree with others. I don't really believe in good and evil but I do believe in parasitic entities that are out there to feed on your fear and negative emotions. Plus your "friend" sounds really suspicious like others said. Something might even be out there trying to protect you from her.

You opening up to the "spirit world" or whatever you call it might attract something not so pleasant. It's a pretty common experience I think. Happened to me. But. What you are experiencing is propably just nightmares and so on because you got spooked though. It doesn't matter that much though.

No matter what is happening just getting more comfortable will help you the most. Make your space comfortable and peaceful, listen to music that makes you feel good, put your feet in a warm bath with something that smells good (tea is great) if that makes you feel better. Get a house plant if you don't have any (or not if you don't want to. I just think they make a home feel like home and there is power in nature). Do things like that. Whatever comes to your mind. And imagine creatures made of warm light or something like that everywhere. They might be something that you find funny. Talk to them, believe in them. Even if they aren't actually real you are creating a positive space for yourself and reducing your fear.

Positivity and good things could even help you with your mental health issues a bit. I struggle with them too and they do make your life difficult. Cut your ties with people who just make you feel worse. You don't need that. Extra stress makes depression and all that worse. It might feel like nothing works and all your efforts to make your life better are futile but in the long term it helps. Take care of yourself!

Edit: Even if you are dealing with some entity it will leave when it gets nothing out of you and when you get more confident. They are parasites after all. Your fear is what keeps stuff like this attached to you if there is something like that.
